We were only in SA for the weekend and we ate at Plantaqueria twice. An all-vegan taqueria turned out to be just as amazing as it sounded. We tried several breakfast tacos, and my favorite was La Lucha (soy chorizo, seasoned potatoes, vegan egg & cheese). The horchata was excellent as a drink option. This place is now on my must-have list anytime I visit!

Lekker vegan eten in de frituurlucht - Edit
Het eten bij Plantaqueria is heerlijk. Het restaurant oogt echter meer als een snackbar en er hing zo’n zware frituurlucht dat het niet mogelijk was om lang binnen te blijven zitten. Het eten afhalen lijkt een betere optie.

We are here two days in a row while visiting San Antonio. We were lucky enough to catch the weekend brunch menu with the elote hotcakes which I am not trying to figure out how to replicate. Also, just a warning...you may not be able to go back to store bought tortillas 🤣

Delight for the vegan taco lover - Edit
Loved the authentic taco and other Mexican options here. We had the pozole, barbacoa taco and birria taco. Everything had a bang of flavor. For me, the food was on the spicy side and I would probably request for and try something less spicy if I went here again .

Went to this place three times in three days and found something new that was delicious each time. Their carne asada is unbelievable, vegan mung bean eggs were to die for, and the cheese is sooo melty good.

I love this place! The homemade tortillas were so yummy. I had the birria quesatacos and they were so delicious. If you are in the area, you must stop by and get you some food from Plantaqueria!

It is walking distance if staying anywhere downtown. Many options. I had their 4 mini-tacos, which allowed me to choose two different ‘meats’. I got carne asada and jackfruit barbacoa. And a cup of charro beans. All very delicious. I do wish they had spicier salsas.

We arrived a little bit before closing and they were super fast and delicious. The chips were amazing (came in a little bag) - crisp and thick. Our tacos had so much flavor. The cheese and sauce were perfect.

Plantaqueria was so delicious! We tried a lot of different things and everything was awesome. Idk what the vegan cheese they use for the quesadillas is, but it is insanely good, melts perfectly. The agua frescas have real fruit pieces and are delicious too. Elote portion was bigger than I expected and also good! And the corn tortillas are amazingggg, they don’t break and they are the perfect thickness.

This is some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I’m sort of a Mexican food snob so that’s high praise from me! I loved the hand made tortillas! The beans. The Birra Queso tacos with the consommé for dipping was swoon worthy! Truly incredible food! You must check it out when in San Antonio!

The corn tortillas they make are so good. Thick and delicious. Plenty of fillings to choose from. I tried the jackfruit, soy chicken, refried beans, eggs and potatoes. All very good. The horchata coffee blend was perfect. Not too sweet. Juice was too sweet for my taste.

I had the vegan quesadilla. It was full of vegan cheese and meat substitute. It was good although lacking in vegetables. I also had a watermelon agua fresca which was sweet and had real fruit in it.

You have to stop here, it’s way too good, and they have a super friendly staff. Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had, homemade tortillas were delicious and loved both house made hot sauces. I’ll be coming back for sure!

What a bright spot for a vegan visiting TX! I brought skeptical meat eaters and they loved it. We ordered numerous things and everything was fantastic. Terrific staff too. Always love supporting fully vegan spots rather than a place that is barely doing the minimum for us.
