Long awaited and worth the wait! - Edit
Seeking to try as many dishes as possible, we each ordered the lunch combo consisting of a starter, a main, and a cookie. The Dragon Roll and Brocoli Tempura were simply outstanding - both in texture and flavor. The quesadilla was strong in its mushroom flavor and tasty. The table was less enthusiastic about the Sunset Roll (a lemon and taro combination). Overall, this was a great dining experience - the setting is stunning, food fresh and creative, and the service attentive. All in all, well worth the wait to get here.

A consistent favorite - Edit
We love Planta since we stumbled across it in Toronto, and have since eaten at the Toronto, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Marina Del Rey locations. The food is consistently good at every location we’ve been to. I have two favorite menu items. The torched and pressed rolls and the truffle miso noodles (I have to have gluten free noodles but the regular looks even better!). My husband loves the burrito. #Veganuary

Cons: I wish Marina Del Rey had the key lime cheesecake, I miss the Cauliflower tots I had in Toronto!

Yes please! - Edit
We tried several shareables - the torched and pressed, 1000 layer potatoes, and black garlic tofu- all delicious. Next we tried these:

chile de árbol, zucchini, basil
TRUFFLE KAMAMESHI
shiitake, leek, chimichurri
The cavatelli was spicy without much other flavor and the kamameshi was a fancy fried rice. Next time, I’d stick with the sharables, which were incredible. It was a lovely experience- we dined outside with heaters and our dog, great sunset view.

I've only been to this Planta once (and once in Toronto). I don't know who is behind the chain. but they are doing an incredible job. both restaurants were beautifully designed. and both served fresh, flavorful and innovative vegan food. it isn't junk food. and it's certainly not priced for the masses. but hopefully they will show non vegans that healthy, plant based food can be elevated to fine dining. #Veganuary

Planta Cocina is one of the most beautiful restaurants, if not the most beautiful one, I've seen and been to. But it doesn't stop here. The ambiance is ah-may-zing! The staff is attentive, quick, and so friendly. They truly like to serve people and make your stay the best time ever. I had the dragon rolls for starters. Unreal. I think the best sushi I've ever had (and I've tried quite a few places). My main were the Udon noodles. Perfection. So, if you are in OC, do yourself a favor and go to Planta Cocina (don't forget to RSVP via their website, super easy to do) and enjoy pure deliciousness and go home with a full heart and happy taste buds.

Right by the bike path - love to stop in on a ride. Mondays they have a great deal on sushi - and their stuff is gooood. The seasonal menu never disappoints - you gotta try their butternut squash soup while it lasts!

The menu is simple but plenty of choices.
We had the sushi - 10/10 fresh delicate flavors, we especially loved the sunrise.
If you love truffle the undon noodles are earthy rich and so satisfying.
Overall excellent experience

Out of this world delicious! - Edit
This place is decorated beautifully and the vibe was great. We got the Bang Bang broccoli, which was one of the best broccoli dishes I have ever had. The crispy rice was also fantastic. The pesto pasta was too oily for me, but the flavor was good.

What a special treat! I chose Planta for my birthday dinner with my meat eater friends. They were all blown away by how nice and delicious a vegan restaurant could be. Everything I've had on the menu has been excellent. I also love their focus on sustainability.

Exceptional food - Edit
Made a reservation at this place not too long ago. Tried the location in NYC before so excited there was one back home. The food was just as good. The Udon and the broccoli are the highlights. Sushi is not bad, but other vegan sushi in LA is better. The only thing that was annoying (but wouldn't subtract a star ) was the wait, even with a reservation. We got there exactly on time for a 7:30pm reservation but didn't get seated until 8pm.

Cool experience - Edit
Beautiful space with a view of the marina definitely makes for a cool dining experience! Pricy so probably only a one time thing for me - the food was creative, elevated and fresh but was overall more light and refreshing and didn’t super blow me away taste-wise or satisfy me hunger-wise. My favorite dish ordered was the street corn lol. The cocktails were good too. Make sure you make a reservation though

Great place for a party of 4 or more - Edit
Great variety of tasty food. Beautiful setting overlooking the Marina only if you are with a party of four or more. If it is just the two of you, then it is the noisy bar area for you. You could walk away very full and a little lighter in the wallet.

Planta Cocina was an excellent experience.
Read moreTheir outside patio faces the dock and just has such a relaxing vibe. They pride themselves in sustainable food. The food does not leave you feeling heavy and gross as it’s not oily.
We tried a variety of their dishes and could definitely say the vegan sushi has a different kick to it as they do not use the fake fish products everyone else does. It tastes a lot better in my opinion. All the food tastes very fresh and healthy.
One of my favorite dishes was the 1,000 layer potatoes with a plant based salty caviar.
The queso fundido has a beautiful presentation but the cheese itself is not very special.
We ordered the corn cake that had “dulce de leche” and it was soooo dry. My family is Argentinean and let me tell you, that was not dulce de leche. Props for trying though. Do yourself a favor and get the brownie with ice cream. It was spectacular:)
It is a little pricey but we’ll worth it. Definitely a treat and can’t wait to go again.

Came here for Sunday dinner. We ordered some cocktails. I think I ordered the Herb one which was delicious but strong. We ordered the mushrooms from robata, street corn, 1000 layer potatoes, the kemanaki (?) rice thing, queso fundido. I think my favorites were the queso and corn. Can skip the rice dish.

Food from HEAVEN 😭💚 - Edit
If there was a dish that knew how to steal your heart over and over again with every bite, all the food on the menu would be that dish. Absolutely nothing I tried was mediocre. Every single dish exceeded my expectations and blew my mind, body, and soul away. Epic date night spot or a place to enjoy with friends and family. Reservations might be helpful. Save room for dessert - that horchata cheesecake is bliss made by angels.

One of the best… - Edit
This place checks off all the boxes. Great food, great ambience, great overall dining experience. The restaurant has this cool, modern and trendy appeal as soon as you enter. I sat at the bar and started off with the “Unagi Eggplant Nigiri” which was simply amazing. I also had the “Torched & Press”, an avocado roll with a miso truffle glaze which was equally delicious. Lastly, I tried the “Black Garlic Tofu” which was dressed in the most savory and delicious dressing. This restaurant is a 100% must try.

Amazingly Delicious Vegan Restaurant!! - Edit
If you’re looking for a great plant based restaurant, Planta Cocina, in Marina del Rey is a must try! It’s located right on the marina, the ambiance is lovely and casual with outdoor seating looking out over the marina, and the food is amazing and entirely plant based. My all time favorites are the Crispy Rice, 1,000 Layer Crispy Potatoes, and the Bang Bang Broccoli! But you can’t go wrong no matter what you order, because everything is delicious, and dishes are great for sharing too, so you can try a lot of different dishes! Reservations are recommended.

Everything is to drool for! I went to the one in South Beach no we doing have to go as far 😜 I’m so happy this location is now open. The drinks are delicious! I got the HERB YOUR ENTHUSIASM & the MEZ-CAL ME MAYBE, very different from one another but both tasty. For food I ordered the DRAGON ROLL, AVOCADO LIME TARTAR and the UDON NOODLES. I’ll definitely be back again to try the rest of the menu!
