Love the place, not the people - Edit
I used to be a regular at Plant, because I loved the yummy veggie food and the cozy little cafe-type atmosphere. But I decided to stop going because the owner and some of the employees are so unpleasant. Despite the fact that I was coming there 2-3 times a week, the owner rarely smiled at me, always seemed depressed, and never attempted to be friendly toward me or exchange in small talk.
One of the employees also belittled me many times, by demanding that I order immediately, or that I think through my decisions next time before I make a to-go order, then end up eating there (because a seat happened to open up). She really needs to get a better attitude, because the food is great. It's just not worth dealing with someone like her.

Pros: Great Food, Cozy, Fast
Cons: Unpleasant Owner and staff, Small Venue/Crowded, Pricey

tulips326 29 Dec 2016 - I can understand your comments about the owner, but we all have our bad days. The current staff she has hired is also cold and not friendly. One of them gave me the stink eye the first time she ever saw me. In the past, a staff member acted like it was a big deal when I ordered a second entree. She isn't working there now. The sous chef is the friendly one.
tulips326 19 Feb 2017 - Also, lately they don't change their menu items enough. They keep serving the same few dishes all the time and there is never soup on Saturdays, a day that many people can only go on. Also, they didn't even bring back their three bean chili this winter. Since I went on a Saturday I got the TLT sandwich but no tomato soup...just a few chips. Geez.

Best Vegan Spot in Seoul - Edit
My BBQ Jackfruit Burger was absolutely delicious! It came with a small salad and potato chips, a very welcome addition. I also had a green smoothie that kept my taste buds busy as I took breaks from my entree.
I took a few Oreo brownies and some red velvet cake to go. Devoured the dessert when I got home.
The environment is cozy and welcoming. The staff was very helpful. Wifi is available.
Pros: Delicious Food, English-speaking Staff

here are my favs from plant! - Edit
keep in mind that im a college student, others may feel like "that was ur fav?? you can make the same thing at home for like half the price" well i dont have an oven or a blender, so they're very worth it for me :)
banana cream pie
tempeh blt sandwich & tomato soup
falafel burger
west african peanut soup
power green smoothie
banana cream pie is really really good. so good. so good. idk what to say other than that its rly good. its got me at a loss of words to say the least
the tempeh blt sandwich & tomato soup set was so flavorful! i esp loved soup. spicy, herby, and deep tomato taste in perfect consistency!
the falafel burger was beany and savory. i wish it was more crispy outside. the one i had was kind of mushy and felt more like condiment than patty, but it was still really yummy :D
west african peanut soup is like nutty curry! love the harmony of curry spice aroma with peanutty savoriness!!! served with yellow rice, probably yellow from the turmeric.
power green smoothie is great all year round but more so in the summer because it's basically a tall cup of ice cream. creamy, sweet, and fruity from the banana. so yummy!!
as with all things, plant too cannot be perfect :( there was one dish so far that was really meh.
kale pesto pasta was pretty bland. the sauce had no nuttiness or herby fragrance. all it provided for the dish was slight garlic-ness here and there, and an appetizingly green coating for the penne. the cheese was even blander than the sauce, it was a good consistency but had no taste whatsoever :(
Pros: banana cream pie, tempeh blt sandwich & TOMATO SOUP!! :D, falafel burger
Cons: kale pesto pasta

Small Place, Great Food - Edit
Its a really small cafe located in the bylanes of Iteawon. Couldn't find a place to sit so got a take out, but the food was amazing. I dont remember the name but was a salad with tofu, beans and some sauce. Also they make their own hummus which is quite good. Really recommended for vegeterians
Pros: Food is great
Cons: Very small place

I love Plant - Edit
Plant is a great little vegan place in Itaewon. There is a rotating menu of delicious items, and a great selection of desserts, such as cakes, cookies, and scones. My main complaints are that the place is small and seats 12 people. Sometimes, there will be people waiting for a table, and finished people are sitting there and not leaving. Once, a lady was not eating or drinking anything. She was just sitting there reading a book with others and myself waiting to be seated. Once, a couple sat at the big table playing cards while others were wanting to have a seat. The restaurant itself is cozy and intimate, which is really nice, until people come in and talk loudly, especially when hey are talking about people they know that they don't like and spouting f bombs. I'm sorry, but I really don't like hearing people swear when I am trying to enjoy a meal. It seems Plant has been attracting a crappy clientele these days. Like many other vegan cafes, Plant seems to only care about its weekday customers. They are open Monday through Saturday, but sometimes, those of us who show up on Saturday arrive to see stuff on the weekly menu sold out. It's just plain good business sense to care about everyone, weekday and weekend customers. Also, you get to compete to get food, especially the baked goods. If you don't get there right when they open at 11 or at least by 12, you not only won't get a seat, but the baked goods will be selling out. They are open until 8, but they do not replenish the dessert case. Many people can only visit on Saturdays, and don't want to get up early and rush to compete for food.
Pros: Delicious menu items and baked goods, Consistent with opening hours, Small, intimate and cozy
Cons: Baked goods disappear if you don't get there by 11, Owner doesn't seem to care about Saturday customer, Unfriendly staff. Sous chef is great though

A Reprieve for Vegetarians in Korea - Edit
We found plant through tripadvisor and I knew we had to check it out. My partner and I shared the fallafel burger (with chips and small salad) and the green smoothie. It was AWESOME! I wanted to try more options and definitely plan to return the next time I am in Seoul. It is a great location too so it makes it easy to grab a good bite to eat and then wander around Itaewon for beers and nightlife.
Pros: Delicious, Vibrant Flavors , Super-friendly staff
Cons: Small space , Limited options, Kind of hidden

Nice cozy place - Edit
Nice place but. limited options. They only have a few dishes a day, but the place is as small as a one bedroom apartment so it is understandable. Food is good. I don't normally like cakes, but I tried it and it was bearable.

Cons: Kind of hidden away down a street that smells like, Very limited seating - 12 people max

I want to marry this place - Edit
Took a non vegan friend here and he said it was the best thing he's eaten in Korea. I freaking loooooved it so much I came back the next day. EVERYTHING is good here. I had the curry the first day and then the burrito bowl the next AND a slice of gingerbread pumpkin cookies and cream cake which was DIVINE. Seriously the best cake I've ever eaten in my life.
Pros: delicious, fun place to meet other vegans , adorable atmosphere

Top notch - Edit
Very cute place with great vegan food. Love that it's whole plant based vegan and is reasonably priced. Kind staff and great food. Tempeh rainbow wraps were delish. Green smoothie was creamy and slightly sweet. The carrot cake was fluffy and so so yummy. Definitely recommend it!!
Pros: Decent prices, delicious food, kind staff
Cons: Not much

Nice Food, Nice People but Really Small - Edit
I had the coconut curry and my wife had the burrito bowl. The curry was average, not bad, but not great. Tasted like a basic curry that you could make yourself at home with basic ingredients. The burrito bowl however was fantastic. Really tasted great and was hands down one of the better vegan dishes I have ever had. We also had the peanut butter chocolate cake and an oreo brownie for desert. Both were delicious. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Only little critique I would have is the place is very popular and very small. Every 2 min the door comes sliding open with a new group of people who walk in only to discover there are no seats. This can kind of break up the ambiance of what is otherwise a very cute little place. All in all great find, and I will be coming back.
Pros: Great Staff, Great Baked Goods, Fair Prices
Cons: Little Bit Small

Damn good!!! - Edit
Went once and had the burrito bowl followed by the pumpkin gingerbread cake... man... I'm salivating right now writing this. I found the food very flavourful, of appropriate portions and at a more or less reasonable price. The staff very pretty friendly too and there's a cool laid back vibe to the place. Definitely worth a visit.
That pumpkin gingerbread cake... best vegan cake ever!
Pros: Tasty food, Friendly staff, Reasonable price
Cons: None

Excellent - Edit
The food is very delicious. They always have a menu for the day which have like 4, 5 or more options and the menu changes every day. The dishes are very diverse, fusion cuisine; a mix between middle eastern food, mexican, western fast food etc. I always feel very satisfied with the food here, it taste great and the serving size is ok. It is heavy food because of the amount and combinations but its healthy because is not full of fried things and oils. They also have some desserts like brownie. the place is great, the walls are covered with prints of ink drawings and the atmosphere is good but it is too small.
Pros: great food range, delicious food, nice atmosphere
Cons: too small so you have to eat and leave soon when i

Yum - Edit
Each time I have eatten here the wait was long, but the food is worth waiting for. Super delicious, always leave satisfied. I just wish that the location was a bit bigger. There isn't much of a waiting area (it is one room) so you usually have to wait outside and if the weather isn't good it can be quiet a turn off. Total hipster vibe.
Pros: Delicious, Friendly
Cons: Small, Pricey

The food was decent (not great, though), but our portions were so small... We paid around 36,000 Won for two (one drink and one meal each), which is quite hefty, too.

Get there early and enjoy - Edit
This is the place I was mostly looking forward to eating at while in Seoul. However, we arrived 15 minutes before closing time and we were told we could not get food from the kitchen.
We did get the chocolate peanut butter cake and it was amazing. Wish we could have tried more as we probably won't have a chance to go back.
It's worth a visit just get there before 7 p.m.
Watch a video on YouTube before you go to learn how to get there.
Pros: Delicious, Vegan, Cute
Cons: Early closing hours , Hard to find

Stellar bakery - Edit
My friend and I popped in here one rainy afternoon for some coffee and dessert. I got the espresso layer cake and he got a cookie... and I then ended up buying one of everything from the bakery to take home.

Best vegan food - Edit
Hands down the best food I had during my three week trip to Korea, and would even go so far as to say one of the best meals I've ever had. I ordered the lentil veggie burrito bowl which came with brown lentils, black beans, corn, pico de gallo, aioli sauce, kale, rice, pickled cabbage, nacho chips, and cilantro. Sounds kind of average but somehow the flavors worked so well together and I ate soo slow because I never wanted it to end. And the atmosphere is so cozy, hip, and relaxing. Absolutely loved it.
Pros: Amazing food, Great atmosphere, Healthy

My go-to place - Edit
Plant has a small menu (2 or 3 choices a day, which are the same for around a week), but the quality is consistent. The restaurant itself is very small and the prices are a tad high, but the food is healthy, 100% vegan and the portions are good as well. There are many desserts and drinks to choose from as well. The desserts are not as delicious as they were before vegan butter disappeared from Korea, but they're still the best I've found in Korea so far. There are some really delicious drinks available. I love their burger and their wraps. Not all menu items are a homerun, but they all feel homemade and good for your body.
Pros: Healthy, Tasty, Lots of vegan drinks
Cons: A bit expensive, very small restaurant, desserts not as good as they once were

My favorite Vegan Restaurant in all of S. Korea! - Edit
I love this place! The owner/founder, Mipa, runs an excellent blog called, "An Alien's day out." The food here is amazing. Last Friday I swung by for lunch and ordered the BBQ Tofu Burger along with a hot ginger-orange tea. It was complete heaven.
The cakes and cookies are always amazing too. I can't wait to go back there :)
Pros: Delicious Lunch/dinner items, Best baked vegan goodies!, Can order vegan cakes
Cons: Can sell-out, Small space

So nice - Edit
I went here for a homemade kombucha and later for lunch. The place smells nice and looks cozy!
The food was okay, the only gluten-free option was nut stew that left wishing for some protein. Peanut butter chocolate cake was veeery good :>
Pros: Cozy, Food and cakes
Cons: A bit hard to find

Super food, super fun - Edit
First, this place is hard to find so go with a local or take a Google Map-equipped smartphone. It's also small, so I hope you find seating!... Once inside, they've got great super-goody, gluten-free baked goods + treats. Try the oreo brownie. We had green smoothies (spirulina, peanut butter, frozen bananas, ... other good stuff I forget) and an African-style peanut stew with couscous and salad. Both really tasty. The smoothie was filling – almost more so than the meal! The smoothie cost 6500KRW and the stew 12500, so not cheap but not expensive and I reckon you get quality ingredients. I'd love to rep this place and would've bought a t-shirt but the large was too short/small... The (co?)owner speaks fluent English. Definitely recommended.
Pros: Quality ingredients, Tasty stuff!, Vegan ethos
Cons: Hard to find, little seating, Bit pricy

I visited this place many times when I lived in Seoul, there are a few dishes offer daily but all of them are incredibly delicious even for non-vegetarian like me. Cakes are good too but the frosting is a little bit too sweet for me.

Instagram worthy food! - Edit
Everything I ate here was delicious. The mains were light and healthy, but filling. There is a small choice for main dishes, but I wanted to eat all of them! There is a great choice of cakes and cookies, with some being gluten free. Plus everything looked like it belonged on Instagram!
If you follow the map/directions provided by Plant, it's actually quite easy to find. English is spoken by everyone who works there, so it's easy if you don't speak any Korean. It's not the cheapest place to eat, but this is reflected in the quality of the food.

Delicious food~ - Edit
After following their instagram for a long time, I was very excited to finally go there on my trip to Korea.
The cakes looked delicious!! But unfortunately I didn't have the chance to try them as I went over for lunch and was quite full after.
The place was a bit hard to find and it was completely full that day. We had to wait for a table and after we got one I kind of felt like I should hurry to give place to the people that were already queuing by the door. The decoration is very nice, but it is indeed a bit small.. I wish they can move to a bigger place in the future!
I had the vegan Tempeh wrap and it was really good and fresh!! I would say it's a bit pricey for the amount of food (my boyfriend eats quite a lot and I could tell he was a bit disappointed looking at his plate). However, the cakes and beverages may be close to what you'll pay in a regular korean coffee shop.
Definitely going back to try the cakes! And I might give this review 5 stars after that :)
Pros: Fresh and tasty food, Cozy, Good presentation
Cons: A bit pricey, Small place with just a few tables

Cozy vegan retreat in the middle of the city! - Edit
I love PLANT for many reasons. The food is amazing, the portion sizes perfect (I eat a LOT) and the atmosphere is so relaxed. It was a bit difficult to find at first and they run out of baked goods quite quickly so it's key to arrive sooner rather than later! The people are so sweet though, both the employees and the customers are eager to strike up a conversation, I recommend sitting at the big shared table in the middle! If you're more the quiet type, there is always soft music playing in the background at the perfect volume to still allow you to pull out a book and enjoy yourself in the smaller tables at the back. It's more for tourists than anything else though and I've seen only a handful of locals walk in. Also, relatively expensive but I find that it's definitely worth the price!
Pros: Amazing food, Great atmosphere, Wonderful people
Cons: Kind of tight, Running out of the best sweets!

I really liked Plant because the service was great and the food was phenomenal. It was a bit expensive for the amount of food and quality of it, but Plant is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Pros: Great food and pastries, Friendly staff
Cons: Location is too small (maybe 4-5 tables), Food is pricey ($10+ per person), Few choices (only 2 available per day)

Very cozy! - Edit
This small and homely eatery is very cozy and you feel warmly welcome as soon as you are entering! The staff is extraordinary friendly. You could sit there for hours without recognizing the time runs by.
They offer two different dishes each day i think. Also a green smoothie and a variety of beverage and teas. The meals are nothing too special, but the atmosphere and the staff can compensate that. ;-)

Favorite - Edit
Favorite place in Seoul. One of the few places that I can go to and feel like I'm getting an awesome western, home cooked style vegan meal.
There's a weekly menu with usually 2-3 items. They are sandwiches, curries, or something similar, with a small side. Very filling and good portion sizes. Prices are 11-13kwon.
PLANT also has an awesome selection of vegan treats. My favorites are the carrot cake, thin mints, and scones. I also love the apple ginger tea and chai tea.
Highly recommend. Check out the owner's "alien's day out" blog for directions.
Pros: English speaking staff and menu, Baked goods, Amazing meals
Cons: It's not next door

Delicious and Good Portion Sizes - Edit
I have eaten here a few times over the years and always enjoy it, but today when I went, it was just so good I had to write a review! First, while waiting for my order, my friend and I browsed the baked goods, and they all looked so good that we bought one of everything! (Worth the money - decadant cakes and scrumptious cookies!) I ordered a ginger ade (so good!) and a cheese, pesto and caramelized onion sandwich with lentil soup, and it was just divine! This place knows what it's doing with taste! And it was so hearty and filling! Highly recommended!
The restaurant is tiny, though, and we had to share our table with strangers, which is okay for friendly folk :)
It was also very hot inside - there wasn't even a fan
Pros: Good Portion Size, Reasonable Price, Flavourful
Cons: Limited Seating, No Air Conditioner

Great place but... - Edit
I was really excited this place opened and they have great dishes. My favorite are the tempeh sandwiches. However, the dishes are quite small for the price. I usually have to order two dishes in order to feel full. I'm a small girl too!! The side salad is super small!! I just wish that maybe they could have a bit more options on there menu like sides or something so that I don't have to purchase two meals...
Pros: Delicious food! , Usually healthy , Nice people
Cons: Can be limited for healthy eaters , Small portions , Not many seats

Epic - Edit
This place is actually the reason I started an account on here. I felt so strongly about shouting my praise of this little eatery that I created the account for the sole purpose.
It would be impossible to say enough about how thrilling it is to dine on delicious, innovative, and satisfying VEGAN fare in an otherwise bleak landscape for vegans. I lose sleep anticipating my next pilgrimage to the Plant Studio.
Pros: Everything Imaginable

Wonderful Home-Cooked Vegan Meals and Desserts - Edit
This place is amazing! There are usually two meal choices from delicious international dishes like these-macaroni & 'cheese' Smoky tempeh, sauerkraut, vegan pepperjack cheeze, & thousand island dressing on rye bread, split-pea lentil soup w/ kale tahini salad, Indian-style Spinach Curry w/ brown rice & side salad, and veggie pot pie. Her vegan desserts are awesome as well. This cute, quaint cafe will not disappoint.
