Per una pausa

Posto dove il cibo è buono, si può mangiare ai tavoli al piano di sopra. Non male

Delicious sandwiches

100% vegan food, located in Urban Space.
I got Po Boy Swag - southern style sandwich. It was really good.
They made it fast.

Great lunch spot!

Really awesome 100% vegan option in Urban Space! Great to grab lunch during the day, especially if you work nearby. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Sri Lankan Buddha bowl and was totally pleased. Filling & hearty without the grossness of a lot of fast food around here.

Experiences varied

We were excited about the Roma bowl, but ended up disappointed. The sauce was bland and the garlic broccoli and garlic bread weren’t very garlicky. The sausage and not-meatballs were good. The Bangkok Curry bowl was delicious, especially the tofu and peanut noodles. Both times I have been, I had to wait a bit for someone to take my order but the food was ready very quickly.

Amazing food inside Urbanspace

At first we didn't see Plant Junkie on the Happy Cow map because it was hidden behind Neat Burger (both inside Urbanspace) but then we happened to see this place and the menu just convinced us!
Both of us had the Low Country Bowl and it was nothing like any bowls I've had before. The Mac-n-Cheese were a little too sweet and the garlic broccoli could have been a little softer but all in all the bowl and especially the buffalo nuggets were surprisingly delicious!

Great

I came here with someone who isn’t vegan or vegetarian. We got the Gangster and the Wicked “Meatball”. Both sandwiches were really amazing. The person I was with came back a second time to try more food! I believe one of the owners wife works at this location and she was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I’ve also had the Low County, this was a big portion for only $13! The Buffalo nuggets and garlic broccoli were amazing. I wasn’t to crazy about the Mac and cheese and felt it was a little dry. I think it’s definitely fixable and would come back here to try out more if the menu

Great food, great atmosphere

I loved my food and we were able to get beers from the bar and bring them over. So it was great! The grinder sausage was really good and the French fries portion is really big - enough for two to share without doubt! Some of the other places within the market venue looked interesting as well.

Great food & staff

It’s a go-to lunch spot for anyone (vegan or non-vegan) in the Grand Central / midtown east. The staff (esp. Marc) are friendly and accommodating. Food is great—great flavor, decent portions, and reasonable price considering the location.

Amazing Plant-Based Food!

This location just opened a couple weeks ago.
I LOVE their food.
I have tried the Hipster, Moroccan Mirage, Yucatan Mayan, and the Wicked “Meatball” from here.
The Hipster being my favorite cause I’m a fan of a good “chicken” sandwich!

All are delicious, filling, and 100% plant-based with fresh ingredients so they are actually healthy for you, the non-human animals, and the planet!

The staff is wonderful and friendly. Everyone is considerate and is maintaining safety by wearing a mask.

Once the pandemic nears its end, I’ll be sitting in this location more often- it’s part of the Urbanspace Vanderbilt food hall with other vendors. The atmosphere is vibrant and cozy. For now I’ve been taking my food to-go and I have had nothing but great service, the food is prepared quickly, and I get my order freshly made and fast.

Pros: Fully plant-based menu, Great lunch spot, Diverse options

Open and ready for business

Plant Junkie is open at the Urban Space food court--located right north of Grand Central Terminal in a food court (note: you must go inside the food court to see this venue). It offers vegan comfort food which is filling and yummy. I have been to their other branch a bit further uptown, and have always loved their food.

The Urban Space is a food court with a bunch of eateries; you go to the kiosk of the venue of your choice, but your food to go or to eat at one of the tables (which you might need to share with strangers) or at one of their outdoor tables. Their menu is not large, but what they have is good (the only desert is chocolate chip cookies--but how much more desert do you need?). Today, I had a Urban Junkie burger and grabbed a smoothie at Playa Bowls (also in the Urban Space food court); I was quite satisfied and full at the end of my meal.

NB: if you are waiting for a train at Grand Central and have a bunch of time, you might try to eat here rather than in the Grand Central food court.

Pros: Good comfort food, Quick service

Cons: The food court can get packed at lunch time
