Bad experience - Edit
It's a food counter with only one employee.
Read moreShe was nowhere to be found for 15-20 minutes. It's ok if you need a break, but I think you have to leave a sign saying what time you'll be back or something like that...
The woman waiting next to me gave up and bought something from a meat counter, which was sad :(
When I was ready to give up I asked someone from another counter and they pointed at her. She was sitting on a stool right next to me the whole time, in a meat counter.
And she wasn't even nice (I didn't complain or anything like that).
As a bonus, the vegetables are not fresh.

Cons: Bad service, Not fresh (pre-made)

I would love for you to meet Chef Hiranth and see the way things are supposed to be run! Im very sorry this.

Slow. In food hall. - Edit
Not sure if the other locations are similar but this location is in a busy food hall. But not a ton of all vegan options in the area. My meatball sandwich was filling and we couldn’t finish the enormous order of fries.

Pros and cons - Edit
It’s good but pricey- a bowl is about $18, but super filling. The other con is that one ingredient in my bowl, a cabbage salad, was not fresh at all. If I’d made it at home I would have thrown it out by now.

A Foodmall - Edit
Ich mag keine Fresshallen. Wenn ich sowas Google, erwarte ich ein richtiges Restaurant, wo ich mich auch setzen kann.

Do not sleep on the cookies - Edit
Don't miss out on their chocolate chip cookies, which are delicious and a great option in the area for a sweet treat! Nice range of options. While the enclosing Urbanspace food hall environment is busy due to its midtown location, the service is fast and friendly.

Not the usual standard - Edit
I go to Plant Junkie everytime I visit Chicago so I was really excited to try their New York branch. However, I was quite disappointed. The quality and the flavour is definitely not the same. I went for my favourite dish Yucatan Mayan and it was very bland. Hopefully it is not like this every day.

Simple - yet lovely. - Edit
Plantjunkie at Urbanspace is a lovely assembly with plenty-full seating and enough bright light to wake Dracula up.

The hipster is a simple chick-like sandwich, yet my absolute top pick from their menu. Each layer, from the bread, and lettuce sheet, to the slice of tomato and chick-fillet, has a nice crunch to it and marries well once paired. Don’t expect a Gourmet sandwich, but the taste will compensate for the expectations. There is not much to say other than give it a try and enjoy it.
Pros: Fresh ingredients
Cons: Busy at lunchtime

Staff were all super friendly and energetic - it made me excited to order and try the menu! The meatball sub I tried was a little “meh”, but they have a lot of yummy-sounding options so I’ll have to go back.

Solid food hall vegan food - Edit
Pulled jackfruit and seitan po boy both were very good. Staff was very nice. Came back a second time for the po boy and it somehow wasn’t as good and seemed smaller. Also a bit un-eco as everything is served takeaway and plastic lidded even if you ask to stay. If you find being around A TON of meat unappetizing then it’s probably best to takeaway anyways.

Fast (vegan) food in a midtown food court - Edit
This place is located in a foodcourt in midtown, not far from the Museum of Modern Art. You order at the counter for takeout or to eat upstairs or on stools nearby. There are other places in the food court that offer vegan items, but this one has all vegan food.
Read moreI have been here a couple of times and ordered their sandwiches, which I enjoyed and found to be d very filling. Even when I came during the lunchtime crunch and the place was mobbed, the serve was reasonably quick; I also came around 5pm, when there were no lines. I would come back again.

Needs flavor - Edit
I hate rating a vegan establishment this low, but this food lacks flavor, at least the dish I tried. I purchased the Yucatán Mayan bowl and it was pretty flavorless. Nothing seemed seasoned, not even the yellow rice. Also tried one of the mini whoopie pies and threw it out after one bite... it was stale and tasted like something that was left in the refrigerator uncovered for too long, like it absorbed other foods’ flavors. I want vegan places to flourish, especially ones near my office, but Plant Junkie needs to work on their recipes. I feel like I just flushed $15 down the toilet.
