Amazing! - Edit
Great place! Both the cheese plate and the seitan chile con queso were absolutely delicious! One of those places where you wish you could say “I’d like one of each, please!” Staff was great and watching the owner interact with others I could tell this place isn’t only about wonderful vegan food...there’s plenty of heart here, too!

Plant was Everything we had heard all items are plant based. They had a variety of choices from appetizers to entrees to desserts. Service was good and prices were reasonable. Small but also has outdoor seating. First visit and will definitely return on next visit to Asheville.

S’wonderful! - Edit
This restaurant is every bit as wonderful as I was told. Excellently cooked vegan cuisine in a small but chic dining room with professional service. I ate here twice while in Asheville and loved it both times. The kitchen was very accomodating to my request for low/no-oil preparations and the results were, frankly, terrific. My only complaint is that they are not in NYC!

Excellent - Edit
Many top rated restaurants don’t live up to the hype. This one surpassed our expectations. If you are in Asheville, this restaurant should be at the top of your list even when dining with carnivores.

You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but my very favorites were the beets, broccoli rabe, and seitan chile con queso. The server was super friendly and helpful. This place is ideal for a date or if you have special guests in town that you want to turn into vegans.

I’d give them 6 stars if I could - Edit
The food was So Good it was moan worthy...The menu changes, but I got a portobello dish that had some kale, tear drop tomatoes & puréed potato, all cooked to PERFECTION. My Mom raved about the beets. I tried her pan fried potatoes: out of this world. I don’t think you can get a bad dish here...They have about 5 Chefs working in an open kitchen that do the magic. The prices were not cheap, but considering how devine everything was, it was a steal. Also, two of the Chefs were very easy on the eyes.

Our go-to date night restaurant - Edit
This all-vegan restaurant is amazing! Consistently high quality delicious food. Great for date night or groups. The open kitchen adds to the atmosphere inside, but we love sitting outside on the patio when the weather is nice. Our favorite is the Seitan Chile Con Queso. The Blackout Pie is a very rich and yummy desert.

Hands down the best vegan restaurant I’ve ever been to! - Edit
So happy with my Plant experience. I would highly recommend everything on the menu, it’s just that good. Every single dish was creative and full of many delicious components. Always nice to be able to go to a restaurant that is fully vegan. Don’t overlook the simplicity of the cheesecake on their dessert menu—it was amazing. If you are in Asheville, GO HERE!!

An amazing meal - Edit
Everything was amazing! We had plantains, Maitake Mushrooms, the cheese plate, tofu bibimbap, and creme brûlée. The Mushrooms were perfectly fried and were complimented by beautiful radishes and a cream sauce. The cheese plate was another favorite - I could eat this cheese all day long. Service was friendly and prompt, and they even wrote “happy birthday” in chocolate sauce for my boyfriend’s birthday which was such a sweet touch.

I enjoyed a 3-course meal here while visiting AVL. Everything was phenomenal! There was a good variety of options. The flavors of the mains we had were very strong, bold, and kind of heavy. The place itself isn’t big and has a very casual atmosphere. I’d recommend making a reservation (by phone only). I hope to go back!

Read moreCongratulations on making the best food ever!
We started with the roasted beet salad which had a horseradish mayo on it and some crispy onions. Wow. We ate that so quickly we didn’t take a picture.
We had the huge Farm lettuce salad “tamari carrots · royal trumpet bacon · roasted potatoes · almonds · creamy caper & dill dressing ”.
We also had the APPLEWOOD SMOKED PORTOBELLO : farm greens & garlic · seared south carolina white polenta cake · fennel salad · grape tomato · v1 steak sauce . So many flavors! So many layers of flavors. It was great.
For dessert we had a banana Creme Brûlée and an ice cream sampler. The ice creams were Almond Chocolate Chip, Sesame and Lemon Ginger. They were all delicious. I am glad I tried the sesame. It was different:it had a toasted sesame flavor and was different than any ice cream I have had before.
A great meal.
Pros: One of my best meals, ever, Great staff, I want to go back!

worth it! - Edit
I feel like I rarely get a chance to eat at a 100% vegan restaurant in NC. This place is amazing. The wait staff are friendly and efficient, and the food was delicious and creative. We will probably go back at least twice during our visit. I think it is reasonably priced as well

Relaxed fine dining A+ - Edit
Very relaxed atmosphere, great servers and service.
Read moreI personally prefer restaurants with a limited menu, it gives me a good feeling of freshness and authentic food prepared to order. The result here is magnificent, great starters and mains, with twists on old favorites, but not compromised.
The mushroom plate was great, as was pretty much everything.
Prices are reasonable, and particularly fair for the alcoholic drinks. Where can you get a bottle of Veuve for $60 in a restaurant?
Simply the best vegan restaurant I have visited.
Pros: choice, price, desert
Cons: need to reserve? maybe not a con though!

Amazing! - Edit
Believe the hype, this place is the real deal. It’s always busy, so you’ll have to make reservations, but it’s SO worth it. My wife and I get the [Plant] Cheese every single time, along with the Seitan Chile Con Queso and the Blackout Pie. I’ve also tried other menu options, and they’re all good. Easily one of my favorite restaurants.

The cheese plate... omg get the cheese plate! We also had the roasted beets which were divine. The bi bim bap was phenomenal. We ended with the cannoli. Everything was amazing. The service and ambiance were delightful. I’ve heard people say it’s too pricey or pretentious and I disagree. It’s fine dining and the portions are fair. The cocktails were wonderful. We left full.

The Best! - Edit
This is honestly the best vegan food I have ever had. It is a little pricey but don’t let that stop you. It is worth every cent. I had a mushroom app that was amazing, I didn’t know you could make mushrooms like that. And the seitan steak with charred romaine and polenta was beyond words. If I am ever back in town I will definitely go again.

Excellent preparation, some flaws - Edit
Every dish and cocktail we had at Plant was prepared expertly. Get ready for flavor and textures on familiar veggies that will make you drool.. Just a couple things hold this place back - first is the patio ambiance. Leaves a lot wanting compared to the awesome feeling of sitting inside. Crappy tables and chairs make you think you're at a cheap coffee shop, lack of decor, etc. Second is the entree choices - excessively simple, don't feel unique to Plant (despite excellent preparation), lasagna being the exception. Dessert shouldn't be missed. Prices weren't egregious.
