We just tried it for the first time today. Very nice selection: hard to choose from the menu. There are some made with almond milk, pea protein, and almond butter. We were all happy with our choices. The staff was friendly and it didn't take long at all.
We had tried to place the order on the phone but no one picked up: but I understand since they were serving customers. It would be nice if there were an option besides nonfat dairy yogurt such as a non dairy yogurt or soy milk and an alternative to honey.
We will definitely return!
Good smoothies but not worth the slow and unsanitary conditions. - Edit
We really enjoy planet smoothie and have been there quite a few times before. After our experience today, I don't think we'll be back.
In the past, depending on who is working, it often takes a while for smoothies to be made. This isn't necessarily the employee's fault, as the company only ever has one person working at a time. Even on weekend mornings, which I would expect is the store's busiest time, I have never seen two employees working.
Today, the gentleman making our smoothies repeatedly picked up his phone and used it in the middle of making our smoothies. This is not only rude when a line of customers is forming, but it's incredibly unsanitary. He also wiped his nose a few times while making our smoothies. There are no gloves used when handling the food products, no hats or hairnets, no aprons or uniforms, etc. I've witnessed other employees with long, painted fingernails handling food products without gloves.
Clearly there needs to be better training or more supervision of the young employees in the store, as well as more staff on hand to prevent long wait times.
We sincerely apologize for your experience at Planet Smoothie. Employees are not permitted to have their phones out when customers are in the store. A hat or visor along with a Planet Smoothie t-shirt is also mandatory. Gloves are also mandatory when picking up any food products. Any employees who have not followed those policies, would have been out of compliance.
We will be holding a mandatory training to review all policies and procedures to ensure our guests have the best possible experience. We hope that you will give us another chance, and we would be happy to offer you a free smoothie during your next visit. Thanks so much for your feedback.
I’ve been there a few times and have tried smoothies and açaí bowls (not on the wall menu, need to ask to see options) and am underwhelmed. This place has potential to be so good but all times I went, my order was wrong or didn’t taste great. They also have very young kids working behind counter and they are so slow at making orders. I was there for 20 minutes today for 2 smoothies.
