I will return to try out everything! - Edit

My boyfriend took me here for a lunch date. The waiter was super nice and he asked if we wanted a regular or a vegan menu. There were so many amazing options, so it was really hard to decide, but we both went for the vegan plate. The tartar sauce was amazing and I loved the fried Violife cheese (which was especially good for my boyfriend who likes fried cheese, but has issues with lactose)! I was too full to order pancakes, so we had some vegan ice cream. I can't wait to go back, so I can try all the other options! I loved it!

Pros: lots of vegan options, super nice waiter, delicious food

Cons: too far away from where I live haha

Many vegan options - Edit

Romano is located in the old town, but don't worry there's a free parking (first two hours) next to the Das ist Valter joint just across the canyon bridge. They have separate vegan menu with a lot of vegan options. I recommend their specialty Krušniki (pizza pockets) with tartar sauce.

Pros: Separate vegan menu, Location, Friendly staff

This place was really nice! The food was great and they have a special menu for vegans!
Google doesn’t lead you to the right place, the restaurant is located by the bridge in the corner. ( had to ask locals )

Pros: vegan menu, big portions , nice staff

Cons: hard to find

Vegan menu! - Edit

For a vegan it's truly a rarity to get asked whether you want a "regular or vegan menu". And the vegan menu has a ton of stuff! This place definitely didn't leave vegans as an after-thought.

The place itself can be a little hard to spot at first. When you walk into the city center, immediately take a sharp right turn and you'll see the sign to the restaurant. They have outdoor and indoor seating.

We got the vegan plate and the seitan "steak" in a mushroom sauce. The steak portion was big, but the vegan plate portion was HUGE. It had 2 fried Violife cheeses, 2 soy patties, potato croquettes, fries and grilled vegetables with a tartar sauce. It was too much for me to finish. It was a little oily, but otherwise delicious! The tartar sauce really went well with it. The mushroom sauce over the seitan steak was lighter and had a really great flavor.

I would definitely recommend this place as it really tries to please their vegan diners, especially in Slovenia where vegan food is not very widely available in restaurants. Wish they would turn fully vegan. Maybe one day!

Pros: A fully vegan menu, Potato croquettes

Cons: Not a vegan restaurant

Good mixed restaurant - Edit

This is a perfect place to go on a mixed dinner or lunch where some 9the people are vegan, some vegetarian and some are not.
Make sure to ask for the vegan menu, it is rich and as really wide variation of vegan dishes.
There 2a distinct feeling that the restaurant went into great effort to make vegans "equal citizens" in the restaurant rather than brush them off with a mediocre single vegan dish like so many other do.
The dishes are quite big, the small pizza can easily satisfy two children or an hungry adult.
The staff are very nice, polite and responsive and the view from the balcony is absolutely superb.
All in all, this is a highly recommended place.

Pros: True vegan respecting restaurant, nice and helpful

Cons: Not anything that stands out really.

Soooo many options! - Edit

You have to visit if you are in Kranj. They have a whole entire menu just for vegans! Plant "stakes" with different sides and sauces, salads with vegan cheese and mayo, pancakes, pizzas and much more! The staff is always very friendly and you have the old part of town nearby.

So delicious! - Edit

They have a whole vegan menu. When the waiter arrives he asks:"normal or vegan menu?"
Imagine yourself when that happens and you didn't know. All the vegan options are crazy delicious. I would give this a five star rating if the app would allow to do it (it doesnt because they are not fully vegetarian).

Pros: "Normall or vegan menu?", Vegan cheese
