Delicious Vegan Pizza, Good Beer, Punk Rock Aesthetic, and Pinball Machines. What more could you want? The vegan garlic fries are amazing too. There is no upcharge for vegan cheese here. I found the prices very reasonable compared to other places. I think a big and delicious vegan cheese pizza was only $16 when I was there.

This is my go-to place for vegan pizza. I order the vegan version of the Strutter, which has vegan cheese and vegan sausage. They do allow you to do half and half pizzas as well. We also get vegan wings every time, which are house-made seitan wings. I like they generally have some veggie apps on the menu too. Craft beer selection is also excellent here, and the servers are amazing as well.

we got the brussel sprouts and thai chili seitan wings and they were both great! we also each got a pizza and the free substitutions for vegan options were definitely a plus. anywhere else you go you get charged an arm and a leg to substitute! the atmosphere was really cool and we will definitely be returning. i definitely wish they had vegan ranch or blue cheese for dipping the wings tho!

I always come here for their pizza. To substitute for vegan cheese is free! And you can add extra toppings for additional costs. They have seitan and vegan feta you can add. I love the Seitan Wings appetizer. They have three different flavors you can order; bbq, sweet Thai chili, and hot and spicy. They have some vegan sandwiches and desserts as well, although I haven’t tried those yet. Love the casual vibe, dimmed lighting, friendly staff, and pricing is good. Overall no complaints.

I went to dinner here with my boyfriend (a meat eater) before a show at the Columbus Theater. I love places that have ample vegan options but still carry stuff for those who aren't veg (and there's a handful of those in this neighborhood!). Beer was awesome and pizza with vegan ricotta was LOVELY. Also, seitan bbq wings were VERY good!! True story: bf got 2 slices of pepperoni pizza. Ate one, then started on my vegan pizza..... never picked up that second piece of pepperoni lol.

This is the best vegan pizza I've ever had. Super tasty the sauce is delicious and the crust is perfect. I got just a basic cheese pizza with vegan cheese (which is a FREE swap !) And BBQ seitan wings. The wings were good, but the pizza was the winner for me. My new favorite spot for sure.

As I was sitting I asked for a straw....I hate it when waitstaff touch the drinking straw with their dare hands...disgusting! As I was waiting for my order I realized that all the staff made everything with their bare hands, fries, bowls, everything. I understand the pizza dough may need to be rolled out and tossed with bare hands, but I just can't .

Read moreOkay...the first couple times we went to Pizza J, everything was decent. Nothing too crazy....okay pizza, good seitan wings. (a little too well done the second time we had them)
However, the last few months it seems like there's been a great change as everything has been very consistent and even better than when they first opened. The vegan pizza options are great and they are always willing to do substitutes, and the wings are always perfect. Note: Tuesdays are 50 cent wing nights and that includes the seitan wings!!!
The alcohol selection has been nice, and we have even been in when they had trivia nights before. Very fun!
Everytime we have gone in we have never had a wait, which is nice, and we have never felt rushed by the servers. Great service, great food. I live an hour away yet I want to go down here weekly!

Pizza J, a sister restaurant to Julians (just a few blocks away) opened in the fall of 2015. They have upped the vegan pizza game for RI! Virtually any pie can be made vegan with their own cashew cheese - and... get this... THEY DON'T CHARGE EXTRA FOR VEGAN CHEESE! In defense of places that do charge extra for vegan cheese (I'm in the vegan food business,) offering vegan cheese is actually expensive and not that easy. The pies are square. The crust gets some nice bubbles! In addition to pizza, they offer fried seitan with your choice of several vegan sauces (we had whisky cola last time.) They also have 2 vegan sandwiches - a vegan Bhan Mi and a vegan RI carnival style Sausage and Pepper Grinder. If you go past the bathrooms, take a right and peak around the corner - you'll find a mini-arcade!
