Public holidays have Sat-Sun hours.

Great Osakan Cuisine - Edit
Really great Osakan cuisine! One of the troubles of being vegan in Japan is the lack of options and as lovely as some of the other vegan restaurants we tried were, they had lots of burgers and not as much “traditional” cuisine. Having just had a tour guide tell us about all this traditional Osakan food that we couldn’t eat, we found out that pretty much all of it was served here! Can’t speak highly enough of it, so nice to not have to miss out on any of the culinary culture just because we’re vegan! Also has really friendly staff who speak great English and an easy to use online order/menu system in English!

In the heart of Dotonbori Market, an oasis of plant-based love. We had the yakisoba meal set. They also have ice cold beer or fruit drinks if that’s your thing.

Greasy, odd vibe - Edit
The staff were very friendly but we really didn’t like the food - the curry was tasteless and plain (no veg), the yakisoba very greasy, and we really didn’t like the octopus balls (but that said, not sure where else you’d get vegan ones, so if you’re really keen to try this is probably the place!). It was set out like somewhere to have a relaxed meal, but the atmosphere was very rushed, the music too loud for a conversation and it felt like a fast food place.

My favourite was the tonkotsu ramen, it was really tasty!

Loved the takoyaki, the sauce and mayo were so delicious, the takoyaki were stodgy & warm & delish. The mapo eggplant wasn’t the best texture & the edamame were standard.

We stopped by Pivot BASE Cafe & Bar around midday, but unfortunately, many of the lunch sets were already sold out. We ended up with the takoyaki set and the sauce cutlet bowl set, both of which were quite tasty. The food was delicious, though the staff could have been a bit more attentive.

Really appreciate having somewhere vegan offering Osaka/Izakaya style food somewhere more central, but overall I thought the food was just ok.
Read moreThe “tako”yaki weren’t cooked particularly well, and the eggplant in the kushiyaki was very oily. Gyoza were fine, as were the pickles.
Several members of staff weren’t very knowledgeable about payment methods when asked. Also when I originally tried to order the kushiyaki it showed as unavailable on the menu. I asked a member of staff and was told it was sold out. 30 minutes later I saw a plate being delivered to another table. I checked the online ordering again and it showed that it was available. It would have been nice for them to tell us it was available again.

Great full vegan menu with ramen and takoyaki they also do lunch sets with some noodle dishes. We had the spicy ramen and the creamy ramen and shared some takoyaki. Lovely service and ordering was easy with the QR code and English menu

Great tasting food — the beers are also HUGE. They speak English as well, highly recommended the takoyaki the mayo they have taste soooo good compared to regular kewpie mayo. We got the gyoza and takoyaki and I got a dessert (matcha pudding with brown sugar). They also have mocktails for my sober friends :-).

Authentic osaka food! - Edit
Had the best vegan takoyaki and kushikatsu here! Finally a place where you can have authentic vegan japanese food. It's so rare. Still many vegan restaurant in Japan serve western food. Personally, I liked it here more than Shinsekai Paprika shokudo, which also have kushikatsu and takoyaki.
