A meal and to go

I ate brunch here and then got hummus and eggplant dips to go!

Pros: Wonderful bakery, Hummus was super smooth and tasty, Around the corner from a vegan grocer

Cons: Nearby construction but don’t let that deter you

Amazing food

Grabbed the taste it all set which came with a choice of 2 pitas and everything else they have. The tahini and hummus went perfect with the pita chips. The falafels were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

Pros: Fully vegan

Cons: Lack of allium free options

Not great value

While the pita was tasty, the falafel and hummus were rather disappointing and lacked taste.
Pricey for what you get

Are those the best pitas in town?

I absolutely love falafel sandwiches and all things hummus. I used to go weekly to Falafel Brothers when I was living in Tokyo. Well, I can tell you this: Pita Bakery’s pitas are the best I had so far. And they come in five flavors you can choose from.

I started with the fundamental: the sandwich. It was good, but not exceptional. I think they could tweak the filling - all the ingredients were great, it’s just that the mix leaves room for improvement. The falafels were very good, but did not impress me as much as the bread.

I then ordered a custom dish: ‘small’ portion of hummus, another one of babaganoush, and two pitas, one whole wheat and the other garlic. The hummus was great. The babaganoush was very good, but I’ve had better (Ta Im in Tokyo if my memory serves me right). The pitas were fantastic - with the caveat that the garlic one might be too strongly flavored to be eaten with whatever you’ll dip it into.

Being SG, it’s not really cheap food, but the quality is there. The biggest con would be the plastic cutlery - why?

I’ll visit again for sure.

Tasty falafel, generous portion sizes

Location. Flavour and texture. Portion sizes. This place ticked a lot of boxes. It’s very expensive, but that’s just standard for Singapore

Pros: Tasty food , Quick service , Great location

Cons: Expensive (standard for Singapore)

Best Falafel in SG!

Ate here twice while visiting Singapore. Great falafel and fresh pita. Also loved the pita chips. A bit pricey for Mediterranean food but worth it to support an all-vegan business. Great area of town for exploring, as well.

The pita falafel pocket wrap is not as good as it’s made to look in the ad

Make the pita pocket look like it’s in the poster shown in the restaurant and on the internet. I was unimpressed with the pita pocket falafel

I’ve had much better food at other restaurants that aren’t rated as highly as pita bakery.

Vegan, Halal, and Kosher Middle Eastern food

Fully vegan, Halal, and Kosher Middle Eastern food! (*Contains alliums) The Taste It All chef's variety platter has great presentation and is nice for sharing with others. Also a good way to sample everything on the menu so you know what to order the next time. I enjoyed the falafel, hummus, babaganoush, choice of spiced pita bread, and dips (tahini and harissa, my order was missing the amba dip for some reason). Personally wasn't such a fan of the Turshi pickles, salad, and pita chips though! Seats are a bit limited.

Amazing Pitas!!

Had the filled pitas with falafels and bits. They were very good, pitas were soft and fluffy and the falafels were amazing. Decently filled all the way through the pita which was good. A little pricy but good none the less.

Pros: 100% Vegan, Pitas!!

Cons: A little pricy

Best pita ever!!

Grabbed some baba and pita to go and wow was it amazing! Got the sesame and za’atar flavor, and there was a deal to buy all five but I said no, we should be good with just two. Big mistake! Totally should have tried them all bc wow the ones I had were seriously delicious. Also had the cole slaw which was fresh and delicious. Great place.

Fantastic

The Harissa (spicy paste) is terrific, I always have a jar in my fridge. Great ambiance, even if not many tables for seating. Totally worth it! Pickles are outstanding.

Love the little red shop just opposite Raffles Hospital and nearby Bugis MRT. A prize find with great pita bread cooked on order. The pita chips is a definite must try!!

Pros: All vegan food, Cheap, Filling

Cons: No hot coffee, which would be perfect.

Great hummus and falafel

I ordered the sharing platter and loved the food! The hummus is amazing, as is the falafel and the rest of the food. The pitas are also great - the Cajun pita, garlic pita, and zaatar pita especially!!

a pity it's managed by rude and aggressive people

Ok, I have patronized them many times and have always liked their food. But I will no longer be going back, because the male boss and female supervisor are simply bullies. Culturally unattuned, petty, aggressive - even to paying customers.

In our case, they made a mistake in our takeaway order - gave us all zaatar pita instead of the assortment we wanted. We only realised the next morning as we were about to have them for breakfast. We notified them politely on IG, with photos. They responded immediately (but did not apologise) and asked for our number, which we gave promptly. But nobody contacted us. Later in the day we casually dropped by the outlet as we were in the area just to share our feedback. The female supervisor remembered serving us the day before. At first she appeared warm and easygoing and offered some pita on the house, but a few minutes later she changed her mind and decided she needed to ask her boss first - as if it was a major business decision that she was in no position to make. Shockingly, the male boss refused, and insisted in an intimidating manner that we must bring all remaining, uneaten pita back as proof! Such an exchange policy is sensible if we were talking about a dress. But I shudder to think why they wanted the unpackaged, day-old pita back - to resell to other customers? In the time of COVID-19?? That could be why other reviewers on google have complained they got stale pita...

As a matter of principle we specially went back the next day, in the rain, to return the (by now, 2-day-old!) pita that they demanded for. We were then treated to a ridiculous lecture by the suddenly-hostile female supervisor who was obviously angered by this very review. Her unkind words seem to imply that we were cheapskates who just wanted free pita, even though she was the one who offered them to us in the first place, before she flip-flopped for no reason.

So, just to set the record straight because you were not listening - all we ask is that you quit being defensive. Just acknowledge a genuine mistake you made, because that's basic decency. Thereafter, rectifying the mistake with a modicum of flexibility and goodwill would be a bonus, even though that's actually the norm in the f&b industry here. But I guess there was clearly a cultural difference in how we each viewed the problem/solution. I don't know if such bellicosity is acceptable in Israel, but it's definitely uncalled for here.

Best hummus in town

The hummus and most dishes are really good. They bake the pitas that you might find in other Middle Eastern restaurants around town.

Pros: All options are vegan. Several food packages.

Cons: A bit pricey. Gets full easily.

Best falafel in SG

This place is tiny with a menu that resembles an actual Israeli falafel stand. (The only thing missing are the French fries!) Good value for money and great food. Jars of condiments available for takeaway.

Perfect for any meal of the day

I order the pita sandwich, the bread is soft and hold the falafels well, I would highly recommend the falafel, they are still moist inside and crispy from the outside.

I would like to have it more spicy but I guess I would have another meal next time.

Disappointing

I went there based on the previous comments and because it is fully vegan but if this is a good humus and good pita according to people then I should open my own restaurant in town. It is more like cheap fast food. How can it get such high reviews? No taste, no flavour, no fun. What more can I say. It looks cheap and it taste cheap. I had way better humus in Singapore.

Pros: Fully vegan, Not so expensive

Cons: Not good enough, The place looks like a fast food restaurant

delicious food, friendly staff

absolutely love this place for mediterranean food! don’t be intimidated if you’ve never tried this cuisine before as it’s absolutely delicious, all my friends and i are addicted 😫 i never fail to drop by if i’m in bugis!

my 2 favourites:

1. i’m hungry set (large side of hummus, 3 falafels, 2 pitas) $14

- enough for 2 people! if you’re hungry you can buy on extra pitas after as there’s enough hummus for 4 pitas
- my favourite pitas would be the zaatar, wholemeal, and premium white!

2. fill free (1 pita sandwich with veggies, tahini dressing, about 8 falafels inside) $9

- super yummy, i absolutely love the creamy tahini dressing and loaded with a lotta falafels

* for both of them you have the option of harissa (super spicy sauce)
i usually ask for it on the side as i enjoy spicy food but i have a low spiciness tolerance level LOL

Pros: delicious food , 100% vegan!

Cons: poor ventilation inside , a little pricey oops but worth it

Great falafel

I tried the Taste It All platter, which was expensive but good. Amazing pita, falafel and sauces. Not a massive fan of the hummus - thought it was a bit sour, which is why I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5 star rating.

Pros: Amazing falafel, Friendly staff, AC

Cons: Expensive, Not the best hummus
