Pioneers Pizza

I found this gem the other day. I prefer to eat only plant based and my family does not. This place offers an excellent vegan option with vegan cheese. It was not daiya but another brand and the pizza was fantastic. Good for the owners in having a vegan option in Port Charolette!! The pizza was great (I even had broccoli tab and eggplant on my pizza).

This place wins the prize for THE best vegan pizza ever! The owners are both vegetarians. Every ingredient is fresh and chosen carefully. They pay for a special water filtration system, use extra virgin olive oil and tomatoes from Italy that they crush themselves. Produce is delivered fresh daily from local farms and washed by hand. You can tell when you taste this food that extreme care was taken. No processed food here! Amazing! They also have paninis and we were served vegan bread sticks when we sat down! Just say you are vegan at the beginning so no Parmesan is added.

I have only been to Pioneers twice, but both times I have had the half veggie panini/ half salad lunch special for $8.99. The veggie consists of broccoli rabe, roasted peppers, portobellos, eggplant and they substitute the homemade mozzarella for their yummy vegan cheese. They are always very accommodating to my vegan-ism and bake the panini without butter and parmesan sprinkled on top. I have also been informed the oil and vinegar are the only vegan dressing for the salad, You have the option of building your own pizza with the vegan cheese as well. It's definitely nice to have an option for pizza close to home!!
