The best in South Bend for vegan

Food is super hot/quick and always perfectly made. We’ve eaten here a least every two weeks since they started. Favorites are Pineapple fried rice and Yaki Udon.

Updated from previous review on 2024-04-27

Pros: Hot food made individually , Super fast, Great staff we alway tip

Cons: Need another SoBend south but nothing negative. , Always back craving our favorite fried pineapple r

Better than Expected

The food was better than what I expected considering the ambience of the place. Very filling! Service as slow to begin but overall very good experience

Pros: Vegan BBQ Beef, Sweet & Sour - My Wife States, The Salad - The Bomb

Cons: Service a little slow but not bad

2 1/2 stars. Nice to have a vegan place but it is dirty and food is meh

The menu offers many items which was nice to see. I don’t know if there are many vegan places in the town but I know in the greater area (outside the larger cities here) there is nothing worthwhile. So I was happy to stumble on this place.

The food was meh….. not terrible, didn’t taste bad, but just not something I’d look forward to having again. Prices were OK for how prices go these days. There was no utensils in the To Go bag and I didn’t ask for any. Just assumed they’d be in there since any other place does that. So maybe that was my fault or not.

But the bathroom was nasty, not just dirty from a day or two. When I see a nasty bathroom I seriously wonder about the kitchen where the food is prepared. Logic says a place will keep the areas where customers go and see cleaner than where they cannot go or cannot see.

I don’t live near here but, if I’m in the area again, I will skip this place and try another place due to the dirtiness.

Pros: larger number of menu items, wholly vegan, easy to park and easy to find

Cons: dirtiness

Alright!

This place is pretty good. Cool that South Bend has an all vegan Asian restaurant. You can see that it’s a family deal and that’s super cute. The food all seems kinda meh to me though. None of it really “hits”. My thoughts are that the menu is too expansive. If they were to rein it in a bit and make a handful of things REALLY WELL I think it could mean the world of difference. I’ll still get their takeout about once a month but I think the potential is expansive compared to what they’re actually offering. Other than that the relief of going to a place where you know everything is vegan is always a pleasure.

Pros: Cute family, Price seems fine, My daughter likes it

Cons: Meh

Delicious!

Delicious! The menu had a large selection of healthy dishes, they were also very accommodating to food allergies. If I lived in the area it would definitely be our go to when we dine out!

Pros: Quality, Variety, Friendliness

Wonderful!

I've been meaning to try this place for months and I'm glad I did. I had the udon noodle soup and some of my wife's sweet and sour soy protein. The food was great and the prices were what I'd expect from a non-vegan restaurant of similar quality.

Pros: Great food, Awesome prices, Nice staff

Cons: Only brown rice, Only drinks are tea and bottled drinks

100% VEGAN Restaurant in South Bend, IN

A wonderful find in the Land of Notre Dame! Very small restaurant serving fresh spinached Spinach Salad, amongst other vegan treats. A Vegan MUST if in South Bend, Indiana!
CAUTION: Their Spicy Chili Crisp condiment on the tables is FULL of MSG, Sulphuric Dioxide and Sodium Sulphite, as well as waaay too much sodium.

Updated from previous review on 2024-03-24

Pros: Quick and Friendly service, Incredible food

Cons: They use Laoganima Spicy Chili Crisp as a condimen

Good, even via delivery

I had a lunch kung pao protein special delivered via third party app. It was still hot, fresh, flavorful, and overall pretty tasty. Would recommend.

Really good food

Odd location in a strip mall, but nice enough place to sit if you eat in. The food is really delicious, and so many options for an entirely vegan place is fantastic.

Pros: Lots of options, Tasty

Disappointed

Drove 9 hours on a business trip… saw that this was the only vegan spot in town and had good reviews so thought we’d try it. Unfortunately both dishes were drenched in sauce that was just way too sugary it made them inedible. The general tsos and the bbq pieces but like I said both sauces were too sweet. We asked for medium spice and there was 0 spice. The general tsos Chikn was good texture wise but again it just tasted terrible. I hope they fix their sauces and realize it doesn’t need to be drowning in sugar. Rough..

Very tasty!

We tried Pinellia for the first time today, while en route to Chicago. It was just a short jaunt from I-80, and convenient for travelers. The menu is extensive and they have a great lunch special that includes a number of entrees with Miso soup and a spring roll. We tried the mango soy medallion lunch special and the jade mushroom entree. Both were delicious. The mango soy medallions were tender and tasty with strips of mango, zucchini, and peppers— prepared sweet with a little spice. The jade mushroom dish was very savory with chewy battered and fried mushrooms on a bed of kale. The portions were generous— a good value and great flavor overall, with plenty of additional options to try. We ordered online and the food was ready when we arrived. There is a small dine in area, as well as take out.

Pros: Extensive menu and lunch specials, Convenient carry out and dine in options, Easy online ordering and great value

Hit the spot

There's not a lot of vegan Asian food options near me, so it was impossible to pass up on an entirely vegan Asian restaurant. The portions were huge. We got the sweet and sour soy protein and seitan in garlic sauce dishes. Both sauces were very tasty and there were a lot of good veggies in the seitan dish. We also ordered tempura "yams and taro" which actually ended up being carrots, sweet potato, and broccoli. The batter was a little under seasoned. It was a lot of food overall, so I'd skip the tempura veggies next time.

Ordered so much food!

There were so many things we wanted try, it was all great! This is a strip mall type restaurant, so it doesn’t look fancy. It was a perfect stop while traveling for some real food.

Treat While Traveling

Was driving through and hadn’t eaten for quite some time. My sister actually found the place and said hey they are vegan you could eat here. I was so happy with the vegetables that were perfectly cooked and the tofu. Usually place overcook them and they are mushy, but not here. Everyone in the group loved the food and ate almost their whole lunch meal. Each of us ordered something different and all was good.

Pros: Variety of vegan options, Ate with non vegans who also loved their food, Very friendly staff

Cons: If you don’t like to try new things this isn’t do, If you don’t like vegetables don’t eat here, There are no actual cons

We got the edamame, French fries, sweet and sour soy protein, bbq ribs, and the jade mushrooms! All of it was absolutely amazing, only regret is that I didn’t get the salad instead of the miso soup. Wonderful little restaurant.

Pros: Lots of options

Cons: Miso was a little bland
