oh so delicious - Edit
Great range of food: from smoothies to bowls to daily specials such as soups! Went with my family and tried a range of options including their brown rice nuggets, two of the bowls and two of the smoothies and can honestly say they were all delicious and refreshing! The serving sizes were great and filling and the service was super friendly.

Açaí Bowl - Edit
I’m just now starting to become vegan and pineana was the only vegan restaurant within a 10 mile radius so I was praying that this restaurant would be amazing. The location is right at the corner and you get a nice little view of Avalon. The staff are very welcoming. Their berry açaí bowl was great and the pineapple crush was good as well. I wouldn’t go everyday though since it can get a bit pricy.

Delicious, filling veggie goodness - Edit
Went to Pineana after a day at the beach and after staring at the menu for forever (endless options!!...Noodle/rice bowls, acai bowls, coco nice cream, smoothies etc.) had a giant tasty "Seoul" bowl which left me feeling nourished and full. Had some of my sister's Malay bowl which was also yum, though the Malay coconut curry sauce is definitely a lot thicker/heavier so not sure if I'd have been able to eat the whole thing by myself.

Oasis in a dead flesh desert - Edit
Filming on location in Avalon is always accompanied by the popular carnist's cafe catering efforts that are ignorant to cruelty free food. Tragic salads and even tomato on toast is drenched in oil has dollops of cheese filled pesto on it.
Read moreYou know that part in movies where the clouds part, rays of light beam down and a heavenly choir sings? Well that was what finding Pineannas was like.
The tight menu seemed concerning at first, I mean how good can the five or six meal options be? Most salady meals leave you desperate for more food and seem a poor after thought or conspiracy to starve you back into eating dead things and animal secretions.
Fortunately the bowl of food was a real size serving that a seasoned vegan would make themselves at home but it was much better than that. I can't remember that name of the dish I had. It tasted like I was dining at one of the super posh Los Angeles restaurants where the flavour profiles are exquisite & you see alot of plate for 50 bucks but this was only $14 or so and satiated my large appetite.
The flavour profile was fresh with a nod to Vietnamese food but it took it much further. It tasted wholesome but special with a mix of sprouts, leaves, beans, tofu, seeds, noodles and a non oily tangy dressing that I still dream of.
I want a Pineannas on every corner as it would make cruelty free vegan eating easy to achieve.
I'm making the 1hr trip out to Avalon in the coming weeks just for another bowl.
I wish I had taken them up on their offer to phone in dinner orders by 4pm and pick them up after 6pm so I could have taken some home with me.

Needs Diversification - Edit
We have eaten here a couple of times since it opened.Whilst the noodle salad bowls are tasty, they must be high GI because we were hungry after one hour. The menu needs to be broader with vegan gf burgers, roasted vegetables, buckwheat pancakes and low GI organic salads as some suggestions if they are to survive the year.Unfortunately the soy lattes with an extra shot we had last Sunday were weak and insipid.

Cons: Limited high GI menu, Very ordinary coffee

Welcome Pineapple Crush! Just what Avalon needed ! - Edit
Wonderful, healthy, delicious, plant-based salad noodle bowls in generous portions at very reasonable prices in the best location in Avalon. This is where I'll be eating every time I come up to the Northern Beaches! Love the all-natural ingredients of this conscious food with no nasty additives; cruelty-free, good for the planet, the body and the soul ! Bravo !
