Just FYI. Google maps shows this location is permanently closed. The only Pilar’s Empanadas that comes up is 50 miles away in Fort Meyers

Empanadas were ok - Edit
Food was ok, a bit dry. We ordered three different empanadas. Unfortunately I got the "chicken" empanada twice which was good, because my partner didn't enjoy the "beef" empanada.

EXTREMELY good vegan Empanadas, and extremely polite staff… they had every vegan empanada in stock. I tried the beyond chicken, beyond beef, and potato and lentil, all of them were amazing!! also very close to the beach!!

huge uprcharge for vegan options, skimpy - Edit
I know that vegan "meat" and "cheese" cost a bit more than animal products, but this place charges almost double for the vegan items. And the empanadas are very small, too. Too bad, I really wanted to be a regular at Pilar's, but you can easily spend $30 for a quick lunch. They run specials for lunch, but not on the vegan items. I appreciate that they have vegan options, but if they want to attract vegans, they need to try a bit harder.

Not sure when you went here, but the vegan empanadas are only $1 to $2 more. We need to take into consideration the cost of Beyond products.

I agree and am willing to pay a reasonable premium. Although Publix often runs BOGO specials on Beyond products, and when they do, the cost is the same as dead cow flesh. But I don't mind paying a premium and I like to support businesses offering vegan options. That said, the beef empanadas are normally $4 each, but they run a lunch special, three for $8.99, with a drink included. The Beyond empanadas are $6 each, and they don't run a lunch special. Which makes them twice the price without a drink. They could at least run a vegan special at some sort of discount if they want vegan business.
