Vegan cake! - Edit
Updated review
Read moreThe cafe was once a family run business with homemade cakes and scones, with a homely feeling. The cafe was sold a couple of years ago and now boasts at being open 365 days a year. It's still a nice place to have a cuppa or snack. All the 'crockery' is now disposable.
There's a small £1 per person charge to walk on the pier (July 25). We called in for a cuppa but ended up eating cake and my friend had a vegan sausage roll too.
There are a variety of plant based milks available. I ordered vegan hot chocolate & lemon cake, both of which were great. The menu here isn't huge but I was surprised to see a few vegan options available including a vegan sausage bap, vegan sausage roll and vegan cake (May 24). They also had a few vegetarian options. So all in all, not a bad attempt at catering for non meat eaters.
The pier itself is a lovely pleasant experience and the cafe offers seating inside and out. So the best of both worlds and enjoyable in any weather.

Good Spot for Vegans on Garth Pier! - Edit
I visited Pier Pavillion Tea Room on a wet Tuesday morning, half expecting it to be shut, and was very pleased to learn that they are open every day of the year. I paid 50p for admission of the pier and was informed by the lovely attendant that I was only the 8th person to visit the pier that morning! The cafe is situated at the very end of the pier, allowing one to enjoy the (almost) 1,500-foot walk over the Menai Straights. The cafe is very cutely decorated inside, and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The woman who served me had incredible customer service skills and greeted each customer so warmly.
Read moreThere were multiple plant milks available for hot drinks, and the vegan options during my visit included the following:
- Vegan Sausage Bap
- Avacado on Toast
- Falafel and Hummus Panini
- Vegan Flapjack
- Trillionaires Tart
- Chocolate Orange Cake
This may not seem like a lot. However, Pier Pavillion Tea Room has a very small menu and limited fridge space for cakes, and a large chunk of this is made of vegan options. I had an Oat Flat White, Falafel and Hummus Panini, and a slice of Chocolate Orange Cake. The coffee was nice, and the panini was large, although very simple. I feel maybe some salad would have significantly improved the taste, texture, and presentation. The cake is one I see at many eateries as a vegan option and is delecious, so I enjoyed it as always!
I'm assuming the cafe use disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as they may not have a dishwasher. Although they used wood and paper options rather than plastic, it was a shame that everything is placed into one 'General Waste' bin rather than having a recycling bin for the paper items.
I would visit Pier Pavillio Tea Room again and recommend it to any vegan who is after a small and simple snack or just a coffee whilst enjoying the fantastic views offered from the pier! #Veganuary

Decent! - Edit
Had plant milks on offer and a few vegan things to eat including a panini and cakes. I had an oat milk flat white and a vegan sausage bap. They weren’t stingy with the sausages at all which we love to see!
