Nice little place - Edit

Stopped in to get food to take away. I had a mexican bean wrap which was so good! The menu was pretty diverse as well so I'll need to go back soon :) The staff were super patient while I was "ooh"-ing and "aah"-ing as well which I was very grateful for.

Pros: Nice food, Good selection, Friendly staff

Lovely place - Edit

Cosy little place, very bright and clean, it has very nice people working in it.
It was the first time I visited it today, I had coffee which was good, there are three types of "milk" to choose from if you don't like/don't want to drink soya.

Then I got pastramheat sandwich and raw carrot cake to go. Sandwich was delicious, sauerkraut, salad, mustard sauce and pastrami - perfect combination.

Carrot cake was good, certainly as healthy as cakes get but I prefer baked ones to be honest, it's just a personal preference though so don't be put off ;-) I really wanted to try the chocolate caramel cake that everyone is talking about but unfortunately they didn't have any today.

I definitely recommend Picnic if you want something healthy and tasty, for me it's a bit too expensive to eat in it on regular basis but I will certainly come back for an occasional treat :-)

Pros: Delicious yet healthy , Good choice , Nice atmosphere, friendly staff

Cons: Quite expensive

Superb people, food and atmosphere - Edit

We visited for brunch on a trip to Glasgow and to fuel up before our long train journey back to Leicester.

I so wish this place was on my doorstep!

The decor is clean, modern and bright but with a warmth - not like a clinical juice bar..! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, even when my 1yo daughter started showing off her newly learned walking around the place.

The food - great quality, excellent value and super quick and hot. A great menu too.

The coffee was my favourite bit. A latte with a choice of plant milks (I opted for super creamy and smooth oat milk). Divine.

I definitely recommend this for a full sit in meal or speedy takeaway (make sure you grab a freshly based cake if you can!).

Pros: Welcoming space and relaxing environment, Friendly knowledgable staff, Excellent produce - fresh, fast, and high quality

Cons: There isn't a branch in Leicester!

Great food! - Edit

Being from Los Angeles, I am accustomed to having very good and very available Vegan fare. On this latest vacation, I was SO glad to have found Picnic near enough for me to get there from my hotel easily. (Uber!) As it was, by the time I arrived in Scotland I was VERY hungry for good, filling (vegan) food. Picnic fit the bill and then some! I ordered 2 days worth of stuff to take back to the hotel with me! I got a wrap, a panini, a great green salad, some sweets, and I don't know what else. The food was really very tasty!

The ladies that helped me were both very nice and explained what was available as I was there pretty close to closing time. Thank goodness there was plenty for me to choose from! When my travels take me back to Scotland, I will definitely be going back there! Thanks for being there, and thanks for being vegan!

Pros: Yummy food!

Nice & Tasty! - Edit

I stopped by for some lunch a few days ago, the look and atmosphere of the place are both very nice and welcoming! One of the first things I noticed was just how nice the staff were, which is always a plus!

I had the curry of the day (I'm sure it was aubergine and something else, but my memory fails me here..) on a sweet potato, which was surprisingly very large (especially considering the price!), I had a hot chocolate also. Both extremely tasty, and such a nice place to relax and eat them.

There's quite a selection of options, I'm particularly interested in the No Egg Mayo roll and the sandwiches and bagels that were there. I'm glad I popped in and I'll certainly be back!

Pros: Friendly & welcoming staff, Plenty of good food options, Good portion sizes & prices

delicious but overpriced - Edit

I came here for lunch with a friend, and we both had a sandwich followed by a cake. The food was wonderful, however we were both still hungry afterwards. I would have considered the food somewhat expensive even for a reasonably sized portion, and as it was, the portions were very small.

I'd like to come back to Picnic because the food really was lovely, but it will have to be a place to come for a special treat, when I'm not too hungry.

Pros: delicious food, lovely decor and atmosphere

Cons: small portions, overpriced

MichellePicnic 06 Jan 2017 - Thank you for visiting Picnic and for taking the time to leave a review.

First of all, I'm very glad you enjoyed your food, the decor and ambience. I'm sorry you didn't find the portion sizes to be adequate. We do our utmost to ensure every menu item offers value for money without compromising on ingredients, so I'm concerned you found whatever you ordered to be a bit small. I would be keen to know what you had, so we can perhaps look at increasing the portion size (email address at the bottom of this response).

Regarding pricing, as an independent cafe in a city centre location, it's a challenge to provide freshly made food for similar prices to much larger outlets. We have looked at similar businesses located nearby and feel our prices are competitive and our product is better. We also want our customers to enjoy their food in a nice environment, so this is also a contributory factor.

Please do feel free to get in touch and I hope we can welcome you back to Picnic again soon.

Thanks again.

high grade fresh vegan nosh - Edit

Love this place. a friendly hang out with super tasty vegan nosh. The menu has good range from smoothies (I sampled the yellow by yellow - very fresh) to wraps, a daily curry/soup, salads plus amazing cakes. I ordered the Asian Butternut Squash soup and the spicy bean wrap which comes toasted which was very scrumptious. Very reasonably priced too. At last, Glasgow seems to be living up to the vegan friendly rep the media bangs on about.

Super nice! - Edit

I've been waiting for somewhere like this in Glasgow for such a long time!

Really lovely, fresh food in a nice modern and airy space. Comfortable seating with nice lighting. Nice staff and good service. I ended up spending nearly 2 hours here with a friend.

Food choices are things like salads, sandwiches, baked potato, wraps, paninis, bagels, curry and cake. Coffee is super nice too. They also have juices and smoothies but I've not tried yet.

Perfect place for a chilled out lunch or for coffee. I'm coming back!

Pros: Decor, Staff friendly, Good options

Looking forward to going back - Edit

Picnics atmosphere was very inviting. Stylish decor and friendly staff. Good Coffee.

However, I ate the full breakfast and I am not sure that his was the best choice. Very standard shop bought sausage and beans and lots of veg. It was tasty just not super exciting.

This is particularly disapointing as lots of the other things on the counter looked so great.

I will be heading back to try their sandwiches and vegan croissant.

Pros: Setting , Friendly Staff, Location

Cons: My Pick

Great vegan lunch and coffee spot - Edit

This place had just opened when I dropped by for an early lunch and it was already quite busy. Staff were friendly and happy to make recommendations.

I went for the spicy bean wrap plus a salad and I really enjoyed them both. It's tough to find places in the city where you can get a decent salad, so was chuffed to find this place. Also enjoyed a pot of hibiscus tea.

Highly recommended and decent value for money.

Pros: hot and cold offerings , nice decor, central location
