After a day at the Amalfi coast with very limited vegan options, we were happy to be welcomed here.
Read moreWe sent a WhatsApp message to Massimo in advance and we're the only guests. Seems like the locals come for lunch and the tourists for dinner.
Such a delicious and elaborate meal! We had a great and filling soup, then a primi with rice and pumpkin followed by a tasting plate with 8 different dishes filled with local ingredients. To finish we received a dessert with local Kali fruit and grapes.
Everything was very tasty and filling. It's because we were active all day that we could finish it but the portions were very big and that for only 15€ per person!

Unique experience with the most delicious food in Salerno - Edit
Massimo, the owner and chef, was just fantastic. He serves each course with a little note (e.g. what it is, why is it good, what makes it special) and lots of love.

If we ever come back to Salerno or close we will visit Elsa again - so should you! :)

The place was rather dark and the cook seemed surprised when we turned up but quickly switched on more lights and explained the concept.

Cook was very passionate about the food he made and informed us about all the different dishes we were served.

The love and passion of Massimo is woven into every meal. His innovative use of healthy ingredients has given me ideas for when I get back home. He really appreciates the support of those who come to his restaurant. At 10 Euro pp for a beautiful set menu of the day it is an absolute steal and I encourage people to add a little on top if you can afford it. He sells beer too.... beautiful local craft beer that compliments the food nicely.

If you are planning on coming at opening time, it might be worth letting him know by What's App in advance so he can make sure he is ready to serve his beautiful freshly made food ... half an hour after the listed opening time you should be fine though

We enjoyed a three course dinner prepared by Massimo, which consisted of vegetable soup, two types of risotto from ancient grains and ravioli, kimchi, scarole, zucchini focaccia, a pie and toast with a hummus-like cream. Everything was delicious and clearly made with love. The owner also shared his passion for healthy, macrobiotic food and explained all parts of the menu in English. The full meal came with tea and only costed €10. Thank you for the nice experience!

This is a tiny eatery, located a bit off of the touristy part of town. The proprietor takes your order and cooks your meal in front of you, somewhat like home cooking. There are no choices: everyone is given a set meal of the day. When I visited, the meal consisted of soup, two types of vegetables, gluten-free pasta, rice dish focaccia, some other little things, and peaches for dessert. The dishes are not particularly inventive or gourmet; but it’s really nice to have good, healthy, down-to-earth food – especially since it’s all too easy when visiting Italy to gorge on less healthy dishes such as cheeseless pizza and pasta.

Welcoming atmosphere. Unique place with great food. Lots of veggies which is great after so much pizza and pasta! 3 courses - started with a soup, then hugeeee plate of assorted food and peach cake for dessert. Highly recommend
