Co op that caters to vegans. Most of the store is vegan and you don’t need to be a member to shop there. Good for specialty frozen and shelf stable items. They’ll also order whatever you’re looking for as long as the distributor carries it.
I love going to co-ops. I go to my local co-op at least once a week. Never before have I seen one with so many vegan options! Most of the products carried by this local shop are vegan. The prices are good and the sales are generous. I found so many items that I hadn't seen before. The staff were helpful, friendly, and were happy to talk all about their favorite products. I wish I lived closer because I would be there all the time. Even though I'm a good 40 minutes away, it was worth the trip.
Although this place carries non-vegan options, a majority of the product they carry are vegan. They have very good prices and also offer a membership, which isn’t required to shop there, but gives you 10% off once a month. Their staff is also super helpful and always carries my groceries out to my car for me (since I have a physical disability).
It’s a bit expensive but the guess work is done for you. - Edit
They have a lot of great options. It’s a small store and the workers are so kind. I was looking for Ezekiel bread in a specific flavor. They didn’t have it but offered to order it for me which was so kind. I enjoy shopping here.
I’ve been to lots of food co-ops in cities across the country and this has to be one of my favorites. They had all the normal vegan specialty items I look out for and ones I didn’t know existed (check out Pofu). We went because our friend gave us a coupon for Have a Heart brand products and we ended up buying a bunch of groceries because of how relatively cheap it is. Fully recommend.
I've lived in Toledo for almost 20 years, have been for vegan for 11 and just visited this establishment for the first time with my vegetarian daughter the other day. Not only can you pick up hard to find vegan ready made foods, they offer a wide variety of cheeze, fresh veggies, treats and vitamins. The staff is super friendly and helpful taboot. Love this place and will be back. May even purchase a membership. 🌱💚
Don't be discouraged by the shady surrounding area, it is Toledo after all! I love seeing and trying all the vegan products, and this is the only place I can get the Earth Balance vegan Mac and cheese besides a trip to the whole foods in Ann Arbor. The employees are very nice and welcoming. I look forward to future vegan junk food trips!
I have been going to Phoenix Earth Food Co-op for more than 5 years, they have a small selection but frugally priced variety of organic produce, health food products and home and skincare items.
Phoenix co-op is a really lovely place. Although they have a small store, they have good inventory. Their bulk section is really good, with everything from nut butters to sucanut. Unfortunately it's in a really crappy location, so I don't visit often....I head the owners are thinking of moving....so let's see!
