Tasty stuff! - Edit
One of the only places you can find a properly large vegan pasties so lots of points for this! Tasty, filling and well seasoned.
Read moreAlways a bit disappointing when the vegan option is just the same as the meat options but without the meat and no attempt to make it more interesting than just potatoes, onions etc. Despite that, I would come here again! Good price for the size.

Yum - Edit
Vegan pasties are pretty damn good but those vegan sausage rolls are incredible!! They take some time for the Philps crew to cook them and to save waste they ask me to pre-order to ensure they have enough
Read moreI would highly recommend the sausage rolls, also, the Hayle Philps has lots of vegan treats in it
Pros: Vegan sausage rolls, Vegan pasties
Cons: No vegan cakes

Best vegan pasty - Edit
We regularly travel from Truro to buy these as they are the best vegan pasties we’ve found. They only use traditional fillings - onion, potato, swede and plenty of pepper. They taste like the pasties of my childhood, but without the meat. The pastry is good too. The don’t put extraneous vegetables in eg sweetcorn. Though they sometimes do a festive vegan over Christmas with red sauce (poss cranberry?) which I don’t like as much. My veggie and non-Cornish husband likes the vegan ones too, though he thinks the new cauliflower cheese ones are almost as good.

They do pasties by post, which I sometimes send to my son who has left the county. We always send 6 vegan but you can mix the boxes.
Thank you Philps!
Pros: Best vegan pasty, Traditional filling, Better pastry than most
Cons: Usually only one vegan option, No branch in Truro!

Best flavour traditional - Edit
The best tasting traditional style vegan pasty so far. Peppery, savoury and packed full of veg. Only 3.85, so great value too!

Really loved my pasty from here, authentically Cornish without the meat! Also had some vegan cake options which I didn’t try

Vegan pasty - Edit
Handy location to grab a Vegan pasty. Car park and harbour side view. But peppery for me, but the pastry was very nice.

Disappointed - Edit
During our 10 day stay in the area I tried 5 vegan pasties from 5 different places and Philps was definitely the most boring one of them all. It was edible despite being too salty (btw my husband's traditional pastie was also too salty). I was rather disappointed.

Delicious vegan pasty - Edit
Super busy during peak months - be prepared to queue outside. Worth it though. Staff are efficient and pasties all pre-bagged ready to go. Vegan pasty has potato, carrot and onion. They are really big, kept us full for most of the day. Take your pasties down to the beach and people watch while you stuff your face. :D

Not the best - Edit
I’d say the vegan pasty from here isn’t that great, it’s big but doesn’t have that much flavour. There’s other chains that do better and certainly inderpendent places that do much better.
