I’m a tree hugger, but I’m also upscale and sensual…and this place reflects that. I deeply appreciate that menu items are inclusive of notification of gluten, soy, and nut information. This helps me navigate my allergies and menu options.
This is my second time dining here. I wish this existed in KSA. Petiole definitely is my go-to restaurant whenever I visit Bahrain.

Best vegan food I've had in ages - Edit
Been vegan for over a decade, tried countless restaurants but this one was special. We had tacos, machboos, fried olives and the breads, they all came with a bunch of incredible sauces, and the drinks also were so tasty and delicious. Top tier - also zero waste and very cute place

I'm not the pickiest of foodies out there - but let's cut to the chase:
Read moreThe staff was very welcoming, friendly and kind. But, when welcomed, my friend and I felt very watched as we were the only two eating at the restaurant with many employees giving us a smile. While a nice gesture, felt a little awkward.
The "green" interior of the restaurant felt rather forced.
We've tried the flame grilled shawarma and the big stack burger. The food looked incredible, I must say, but tasted very basic, lacking flavor. It didn't taste bad, but didn't taste good either, it was just, plain.
Was it an unlucky day, unpopular dish, type of scenario? I don't know, but it wasn't so pleasurable. We felt watched too while eating, which wasn't comfortable at all.
The price? Way, way too high, and that would even be the case if the food tasted much better, but at least it would be acceptable or expected.
All in all, I think Petiole is doing some things right, but has much to work on.
Best of luck and I look forward to visit again for a better experience! I know it can get better :)

Read moreTo start I had their bang band shrimp tacos, appearance wasn’t what I was expecting but very nice.
The main there was only 1 option which I had to try which was a lamb shank as I’ve never come across a vegan lamb alternative. Flavour wise, really good and no complaints there, lamb taste and texture were a little off the mark but had enough similarities to satisfy.
My dessert was blue cardamom mousse cake which was delicious. All the dessert are on display so you don’t need to go in blind using just the menu.
There were many other things I’m very keen to try so will hopefully be back!
The total price of my meal, with 2 sparkling waters came to 18.70 BHD making it probably my most expensive vegan meal here.

Loved the food the popcorn chicken paired amazingly with the chutney and the braised lamb was so interesting! Loved the taste. Lastly the rosé pistachio donut was sweet but not too sweet and the pistachio on top was so good!

I dream of the food here - Edit
Gorgeous restaurant with so many vegan options I almost fell out of my chair. You can taste the amount of care and love that go into each dish, and in the exceptional presentation. Higjly recommend the hashbrown pancakes, the whipped 'feta' changed my life. Beautiful desserts that make your mouth water. I would have liked to see more whole foods plant based food that doesn't pretend to be animal products.

The BEST vegan restaurant in Bahrain, hands down. - Edit
What an ammmaazing addition to Bahrain's growing vegan scene. This restaurant has some mindblowing dishes! My husband and I tried probably 70% of the menu, some of our top favorites were: "chicken" caeser salad, ginger garlic carrot soup, braised "lamb" shank with winter fruits(an experience), flame grilled shawarma (20 out of 10 ouff). Also surprisingly good: the Kebbeh, how do they do it just like the traditional way?! And the Tomato jam burger, that has caramelized onions so good its almost giving onion soup in a burger, and it's yum!
