Pleasant Plant Based Breakfast! - Edit
Pete's Eats is a newly renovated restaurant on Llanberis High Street. The new restaurant has plenty of nods to the former iconic cafe that stood before it from retaining the business name to having climber photographs and stone coloured washed bathroom walls.
Read morePetes eats is currently open 7 days a week 9am-3pm with a breakfast and brunch menu and 4pm-8pm with an evening meals menu. The vegan options during my visit included:
Breakfast/Brunch Menu
- Plant Based Breakfast (small option also available)
-Smashed Avacado on Sourdough Toast
Evening Menu
-Jackfruit Corn Tacos
- Pulled Jackfruit Loaded Fries
- Plant Based Burger
- The Vegan Pizza
Dessert
- Banana and Coconut Sponge
As they only had oat milk available as non-dairy milk, I went for an Oat Flat White along with the Plant Based Breakfast. The flat white was pretty good, and the cup it was served in was very trendy. The breakfast was very good and was well above average in quality for a eatery that also serves meat. The service was excellent, and I really enjoyed the ambience.
What lets Pete's Eats down is that they only have one plant milk available for vegans and only one vegan dessert. They also had no vegan specials on their specials board. The vegan and vegeterian options were labelled, but I feel they could still add more vegan options, especially on their breakfast/brunch menu, as they only had 2 very simple vegan options available. I'd certainly visit again to try some dishes from their evening menu, and I would recommend the Plant Based Breakfast for vegans in or near to Llanberis looking for Plant Based fuel to start their day!

Great Find after a big hike - Edit
We were looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat before heading back to our camp site, we'd just spent the day exploring Dinorwig Quarry and we were hungry and I had a quick peak to see if there was anywhere to get decent food. Pete's Eats came up and we thought we'd give it a go.
Read moreThe staff were lovely, super helpful and big smiles on their faces which is always a lovely welcome to a place. The menu was good, decent options to choose from too. We opted for the jackfruit loaded fries and the vegan pizza. They also had vegan tacos and a burger on the menu too. The pizza was tasty, it was a bit a smaller than we thought, but with the loaded fries it was good for the 2 of us and left a little space for pudd! It was a coconut and banana sponge with coconut sorbet and honeycomb and candied cashews, that was blooming delightful!
Pros: Friendly staff, Delicious food, Gorgeous pudding
Cons: No cons to note of.

Passable but disappointing - Edit
Went for lunch and had avocado toast. Took 40 mins (which they did warn about, but worth being aware of), and got a single small bit of toast with avocado. Tasted okay, but not amazing and not a great portion for the price.

Cons: Small portion, Expensive, Limited options

Reopened last weekend - Edit
Petes Eats has recently reopened, under new management and while the name remains the same, it's very different in concept. We didnt get a chance to eat here during our stay but the menu (not online at time of writing) included vegan breakfast, burger and pizza with vegan cheese option.

Cool backpacker themed cafe - Edit
Pete's have a full vegan breakfast on the menu consisting of beans, mushrooms, fried tomato, two sausages, hash, and toast. They had one flavour of vegan ice cream while I was there, pecan praline. I also heard a server say there was vegan lasagna which wasn't listed on the printed menu or chalkboard.

Breakfast was amazing and they also do pizzas, burgers, plant milks and ice cream😄 Slight bit expensive, hence 4*.
