Vegan food/wine, live music, dancing & flat caps! - Edit

We first went to Peaky Blinders for the launch of their Vegan Wednesdays. The restaurant was fully booked, packed full of hungry veg*ns! There is vegan food available all the time, but Wednesdays are a good time to meet with other like-minded people.

We have subsequently eaten there a further 5-6 times and love the variety of the menu, which has a choice of 4 starters, 5 main courses and 3 desserts, there is also usually an additional special of the day on the board by the bar. The food is delicious. Our favourites are Tempura vegetables, 5 bean chilli & the vegan burger. I have heard that the walnut and mushroom pate is excellent, but not tried it yet. All the food is good value for money, with main courses priced at only £7.95.

The restaurant/bar has a cool 1920's gangster theme with memorabilia from the TV show and all the staff dressing the part. Many of the customers come in costume also. There is live music every evening. The restaurant at the back is a good place to eat and chat, with dancing/drinking in the front bar.

It is advisable to book a table, as it sometimes gets fully booked and we have seen people turned away or having to eat at the bar.

We will see you there on a Wednesday!

Pros: Lots of vegan choices, Good value food, Friendly, quirky venue

Cons: Also serves meat
