Fully Vegan & Allium-Free Eatery

Relatively newer eatery, taking over nomVnom. To my understanding, the menu is fully vegan (no egg, dairy, honey, vitamin D3). For religious vegetarians, the menu is also allium-free, but the Yellow Wine Mushroom Pot contains alcohol (housemade wine fermented from soybeans). Love their emphasis on whole-food plant-based dishes; it’s quite refreshing to eat Chinese dishes such as Mushroom Dried Noodle "Bak Chor Mee" and Teochew Steamed Mushroom (instead of fish) featuring fresh natural ingredients without mock meat! Menu highlights include double-boiled soups, leicha variations (even fried rice), homemade pumpkin rice and yam rice, etc. However everything else I've ordered have been very delicious too, ranging from Sweet & Sour Mushroom Balls to Bittergourd with Beancurd to Teochew Nanru Pot. Tasty, wholesome, and protein-packed, with a wallet-friendly price point (there are also lunch sets available). Staff was friendly and I've been a repeat customer; non-veg companions I've introduced have given me good feedback too! Connected to Tai Seng MRT.

Home-cooked food

Love their concept of minimise mock meat dishes hence they do not have mock chicken rice anymore.

Their soup, kway chap and leicha is very solid.

Flavours of home

I was delighted to find vegetarian versions of childhood favourites like salted vegetable-bittergourd soup, which I hadn't been able to find elsewhere. The soups are served hot, with pieces of vegetables, lion's mane mushrooms, etc. The pumpkin rice was sold out, so I guess it must be a winner. Will be back to try the other soups, noodles and rice dishes.
