Amazing - Edit
EDIT:
Read moreVegan Deli and Butcher no longer operates at Peace Love Coffee, but this place is still all vegan and a nice option in Saint Charles. Their menu includes a variety of vegan hot dogs (Chili/Cheese, Greek, Chicago style etc) as well as soups, salads, coffee drinks, and a very nice selection of bakery items (doughuts, cupcakes, rotating items like lemon bars, etc.). They also have vegan grocery items such as chocolates, cheeze sauces, jerky, dressing, hot sauce, etc.

The former chef of Utah Station recently opened the Vegan Deli and Butcher! I tried it today and it did not disappoint. Hot sandwiches are served Wed-Sunday, and only items out of the cold case the other days. It's a good idea to check Facebook to make sure they are open and to go early for food, as they seem to be selling out of hot food by 3 PM. Hopefully they will be able to ramp up as time goes on. But as for the food...my husband and I tried the French Dip and the Hot and Peppery, both made with vegan beef. Both were so good! Other sandwiches available today were the Reuben, meatball sub, and I think a couple other ones. The (all vegan) cold case had potato salad, egg salad, pasta salad, pepperoni, sliced beef, etc. They also had vegan baked goods such as cookies, danishes, doughnuts. A few packaged goods like chocolates and breads as well. I'm so happy to have a place like this in Saint Charles, and Main Street is such an adorable location. Please help them flourish!

Thank you so much for the kind words and honest review!
Read moreWe have standardized our hours by closing on Mon-Tue and 7-7 Wed through Sun with the kitchen open at 11AM until we sell out.
We are prepping food everyday as much as we can store.
We are consistently going longer into the day but yeah we still sell out on busy days.
We are also offering some cold sandwiches and wraps in our grab n go cases for those occasions we have sold out of hot food.
Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you at the counter again soon!

Great coffee and pastries. - Edit
The coffee is fantastic. The pastries were quite good. The service and ambiance is top notch. The only thing needing slight improvement is the chili. It was hearty and pleasing, but a little on the bland side. I was left wanting a little pleasant burn on my pallet. We're going to come back to try more of the savory offerings.

Cons: The chili needs some heat and/or spice.

Grilled Cheezus - Edit
Small coffee shop in St. Charles. The Grilled Cheezus was the best vegan grilled cheese I have had. Also tried the chili and donuts. The food was good enough to bring me back the next day. Lots of hot beverage options.

Very chill downstairs cafe, lots of good options to try on the menu and it was hard to choose. Was really happy with the vegan Rueben dog, a good size for a light meal.

Best vibes, killer food! - Edit
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been here and it never disappoints. I normally ride the Katy Trail into St. Charles and stop at Peace Love Coffee for lunch. This time I had a BLT-A with potato salad which was so good! But I’ve also had their hot dogs, salads, and lattes as well as various bakery items like cupcakes, pop tarts, cookies, and donut holes. The bakery items also rotate frequently so there’s always something new to try. So unbelievably good!

This place has awesome coffee, food, and desserts. A family member bought me a ton of desserts from here and all of them were absolutely amazing. When I went to the restaurant in person I was blown away by how great their coffee is too. I’m so happy there is an all vegan coffee shop close to me.

Super cozy vegan cafe - Edit
UPDATE: We had PLC cater the desserts at our wedding and they did a spectacular job. Everyone was raving about the cupcakes - many were surprised they were vegan. Beautiful work and Sam the baker did an excellent job setting up the dessert table. People were saying that they ate 5-6 cupcakes because they were so good! We got a personal wedding cake and it was the best cake I've ever had.We also had other treats such as the brownies that were a big hit. Highly recommended them to cater your wedding!
Read moreSuper duper cozy restaurant in old St. Charles. The food was really yummy and satisfying. The grilled cheese was simple but a good comfort food. I got a variety of sweets and they were all amazing. My nonvegan mother loved all of it. The Chai latte was the best vegan Chai I've had😄The place also smelled really nice.

Really cool! - Edit
Everything is vegan. I had the Chicago style hot dog which I could tell was a field roast stadium dog on a toasted bun. It tasted fantastic but I’d rather it be 5 bucks instead of 9 bucks I wanted a second one but couldn’t justify spending that much. The potato salad was great and the red velvet cupcakes were awesome as well. I hope this best for this little place and I want to go back next time I’m in town.

Nice - Edit
I was hesitant to return here after whatever went down between Chef Chris and the owners, but I finally went back.
Read moreThe menu is simple: salads, sandwiches, hot dogs. Not a lot of variety. I tried their BLT, no tomatoes. It was actually quite delicious. I loved the chipotle mayo and it tasted like the bread had been buttered. I’d love to see them offer a gluten-free bread option. Nothing else on the food menu interests me, but I may try a hot dog one day; I believe they use the Field Roast brand.
There are lots of desserts from which to choose. I tried a cookie cake slice and a white chocolate raspberry blondie. The cookie slice was kind of dense and grainy - tasted gluten-free (but it wasn’t). The blondie was excellent. Sweet white chocolate and fresh raspberry.
The market has lots to offer. I grabbed a jar of the caramel sauce. It was very good.
The interior is spacious and clean. Their outdoor seating is nice for good weather days.
I’d like to see them expand their food menu and offer more gluten-free options.

What a Caprese - Edit
Flew in from LA and had a couple of hours to kill while waiting to meet up with friends. Wanted to grab some lunch and this was the place. Tucked below a plant based apothecary, Peace Love Happy, in old town St Charles it was just what I was looking for. The owner Jason was awesome as was the food. The Caprese was one of the best I’ve had. Home grown and home made ingredients and local mozz. Great vibe, great conversation with Jason and his wife Heather upstairs at Peace Love Happy. Will definitely be back next time I am in our out of STL.
