When non-vegan restaurants rely only on meat, dairy and eggs for flavor - Edit
When making vegan-friendly options, non-vegan restaurants without a diverse taste pallet may rely heavily on these ostensible taste dependencies: fake cheeses, fake meats, oil and sugar, discounting all of the rich and natural flavors that come from plants in the form of vegetables, fruits, and seasonings.
Read moreI've had pizza twice from Patxi's. I don't think the owners understand the importance of adding other taste profiles on a vegan pizza because both times it's just a oily & cakey fudge of a bread patty with an over-reliance on fake cheese and sugary tomato paste. I love Chicago-style pizza as I've literally had it straight from the windy city! But the taste is just not curated well at Patxi's. Honestly, I'd rather order from papa john's or 1st class pizza nearby. Locanda Wine Bar downtown livermore understands the balance between fats and carbs as well (but their vegan options lack - you have to have them customize a meal).

Vegan pizza option is okay - Edit
Crust could use some work but sauce is great! Daiya cheese isn't the best but melts fine on this style of pizza.
Read morePros: Well labeled vegan option including cheese. , Lots of garlic!
Cons: Daiya cheese, Sub par crust

Agreed. Patxi's is a C. Honestly, papa john's (downtown) has better pizza. 1st class pizza (east livermore) has a nice option too that I would say tastes better.
