tasty, but overrated - Edit
delicious food, but not that delicious how I expected it. So it was tasty, but definitely nothing extraordinary. I think it's a little bit overpriced.

Conveniently close to my office I’ve been happily working my way through their handmade pasta menu and throughly enjoying myself.
Read moreI’ve really enjoyed they carbonara and mac and cheese but it’s their gnocchi that really impressed me. I’ve only had the loaded version, however I would suggest asking for less sauce as it was too much for me but the gnocchi themselves are so good.

So. Much. Oil. I got the caprese salad (somewhat overpriced) with a side of bread. The homemade mozzarella was actually quite good, but everything was drenched in way too much olive oil, and not the flavorful high-quality kind. Even the bread was drenched in oil, which I was not expecting - and served with even more oil for dipping. Who wants this much oil?
Read moreFor the main, I got the pumpkin tortellini with sage butter. Again, way too oily. The filling was good, but the pasta was undercooked (not al dente, just hard/chewy in some places).
I was planning on getting the biscoff donuts for dessert, but decided to pass because I couldn't stand the thought of more oil.
The service was good at first but then became kind of unattentive as the place filled up. I had to wait a long time between dishes.
Pros: The homemade mozzarella is really good , Cute decor

Amazing pasta in London - a must try! - Edit
YUM! Had such a delicious meal here at Pastan today. We absolutely loved all the food we had there. The fried gnocchi for starters was delicious - we had it with the cacio e pepe sauce which was again amazing!! We thought it would be greasy as it’s fried, but it really wasn’t. I recommend getting a side of this sauce for the rest of your meal as it’s soooo yum!!
Read moreThen we got the pumpkin and sage tortellini, and the green pea and mint ravioli. Both were divine and delicious. Such unique but hearty flavours - some of the best pasta!! The green ravioli was really good with the vegan cashew Parmesan sprinkled on top
Finally, we got the biscoff donuts for dessert - we asked for 2 as we didn’t want 6, but they were SO delicious we ordered another 2 😂 they are unreal - and a must have!!!
The vibe and place is so lovely, non pretentious and generally quite chill. Great for a lunch or dinner spot. Service was excellent, and the owner was so lovely!

Superb Caesar Salad and Excellent Pasta! - Edit
Every meal we’ve had at Pastan has been wonderful! Problem is that we’re hooked on the Caesar Salad, which currently comes with Heura “chicken-style” nuggets, pulled shiitake mushrooms and fried gnocchi - so good, we can’t resist sharing a main sized dish as our starter.
Read moreOf course, the pasta dishes are also excellent, with spins on traditional and non-traditional dishes. I particularly like the Mac’n’Cheese, and on our most recent visit, we tried the Green Velvet ravioli.
If you like biscoff, the mini doughnuts are amazing, although mini health & safety warning - they tend to spurt when you bite into them.
Highly recommended!!! And the people here are so lovely!!!

We had the gnocchis as starter and they were good, but a bit too cheesy. Then, an incredibly rich and flavourful carbonara with excellent bite to it. For the other main, we got tortellini. The combination of the fat of the butter and the delicate sage flavour was sublime. Finally, we had to have their famous mini doughnut balls. Pure indulgence!
Read moreUnfortunately, they adhere to a really bad import from the USA, tipping. Or, as they call it, discretionary charge. They're far from being the only ones, but that doesn't make it right. Put the full price on the items and let's be done with it.

Best Vegan Pasta - Edit
This place is absolutely out of this world and has gone to the list of my top vegan places after the very first visit. The Carbonara is hands down the best vegan version of an Italian dish I've ever had. The service is impeccable, Jerome took the time to learn about our food and flavour preferences and all of their suggestions were absolutely spot on. Apart from the Carbonara (a must-try!), I'd also recommend the 'chicken' nuggets, pumpkin & sage tortelloni and of course the mini doughnuts! Can't wait to come back to try all the other amazing dishes!

The pasta dishes we chose weren't substantial, so I ordered the Caesar salad which was delicious. My partner had the tiramasu with chocolate sorbet for dessert (not shown on their online menu) which she enjoyed. And the restaurant owner gave us some mini donuts filled with biscoff spread to sample and these were really nice.
We went in the evening but check their website they do a special meal deal at lunchtime.

The cheese gnocchi was so good, and a perfect size to start off. Followed by a delicious carbonara. Was then told a tiramisu had just been made which was, by far one of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was really fresh and so well cooked. I recommend this place to anyone wanting some hearty Mx warming food in an incredible atmosphere and wonderful staff! I will definitely be coming back!
