Amazing - Edit
Had the Benedict sandwich and assorted pastries, everything was so damn good. A little out of the way, but worth it.

Cons: expensive, off the beaten path

Great Pastries, Not Great Brunch - Edit
Really amazing pastries, but the brunch I had Tofu Benedict, was just OK. Five star pastries and three star food.

Delightful! - Edit
I went after lunch, and a bad experience down the street at sage cafe, and this place was amazing. The atmosphere and staff were refreshing and the chocolate croissant and iced latte were fantastic. I only had dessert, so I don't know about the lunch items, but I will definitely recommend to friends. Can't wait to come back!
Pros: Vegan chocolate!, Excellent food, Atmosphere

OMFG good! - Edit
Go here vegan or not. Everything is delicious. The London Fog (earl gray latte) with the house made almond mile is divine.
The croissants are great. Nice flaky crust on them.

I was excited to try out the Smoked Benedict today from the new brunch menu. The owner posted the menu on FB, and it is listed as $10 - more than I usually spend, but reasonable. I was sad and disappointed to learn when I went in that the price is $15 for this dish (despite $10 being printed on the menu, and being advertised on Facebook). You order at the counter here, and someone had taken a dry-erase marker to try to change the price in the store - making it so you couldn't read it at all! The menu was left the same on FB too, even after I pointed it out. They would not honor the posted price. This is not a high-end restaurant, it is primarily a counter-service bakery. There are many other places you can sit down, and get served a great vegan meal in Salt Lake City for less than $15. Unless you have a lot of money to burn, I'd suggest you pass on this option in SLC.
Previous review on Sunday July 05, 2015:
This place is new, and the employees are very nice. I've tried the macaroons which are tasty. They have a thin layer on the outside, and a chewier middle. There wasn't much between the outer and middle layer - but they are good. The almond croissant is rich and delicious, and the chocolate covered 'Poches' are OK - I liked them, but my wife and kids weren't big fans.
Don't go here thinking you'll pick up a dozen pastries for the office, unless you have a large bankroll. While these pastries are tasty, they are also a bit pricey - and therefore are probably a treat best eaten occasionally, alone.
I really love that they are open on Sunday, because the other vegan treat establishment in the area is closed on Sunday.
Pros: Open Sundays
Cons: Too expensive, Not a huge selection, Small portions

just ok - Edit
I have been here a few times and I tried the ham and cheese croissant as well as the almond croissant. The ham and cheese was meh... the ham was dry and rubbery but the cheese (Chao) was good. The almond croissant was a little disappointing because of the gooey milky filling must have been sitting all day because it made my croissant soggy on the inside which felt like raw dough. The outside was crispy and beautifully browned but admittedly, I regretted my purchase and wished for a plain croissant. That being said, it is difficult to create the flakey layers in pastry dough so I understand the challenge may yield less than desired results. I also saw that there were several macarons in the display case that were broken, I hope they didn't try and sell those. I commend the bakery for the efforts but there seems to be some things that need to be worked out. I'm not trying to be a jerk and slam the only vegan French inspired pastry shop but $6.50 (tip not included) for a croissant is outrageous especially for what you get. I think it's definitely worth visiting but I'm not going to be a regular customer.
Pros: nice space , friendly staff
Cons: expensive , ridiculously expensive

passion_flour 30 Jan 2016 - Hello!
I want to apologize for your experience and address some of your concerns. The smashed macarons are sold as "Smashcarons" which are sold at half the price, so rest assured, no one paid full price for them! The prices of our products reflect using 100% gmo-free and 98% organic ingredients. French pastries are very labor intensive as they take 3 days to fully make, and I like to make sure our employees are compensated for their time well. Our "Ham & Cheese" and Croissant Aux Amandes are our best sellers, so please send me an email address and I will get you both croissants on the house to make up for your experience.
Thank you for your feedback, as a new business, your input helps lead to Passion Flour's success.

Beautiful atmosphere, delicious and pretty pastry - Edit
Really pretty atmosphere with the most delicious pastries. As a long time vegan, I cannot remember the last time I had a croissant. I tried the french horn, the fruit tart, and a "ham" and "cheese" croissant. They were all amazing in different ways, but I think my favorite was the fruit tart. It was delicious, beautiful, and I liked the chocolate that lined the crust. The croissant was flaky and buttery. The french horn reminded me of an eclair. I only wish I could have stayed in Salt Lake longer to try more! At least Salt Lake is easier to get to than Paris:) I have visited many places and Passion Flour Patisserie is unique and worth a visit.
Pros: vegan croissants!, proper pastries!, lovely atmosphere
Cons: a little pricey, but worth it

Non-GMO, organic, and DELICIOUS. - Edit
This is a new establishment, and they are definitely booming! Right now the only gluten free options are the macaroons. Yes, the selection is small, but do remember they have a small staff and have only been open a handful of weeks. That matched with the large demand has probably made it a little rough to make new items as well.
The price is a little high, however, keep in mind that this is A. a small, local, family owned business- B. gmo free and 98% organic- and C. full of time intensive products! (the croissants take 4 days to set) Jess works very hard to offer the best product she can, at fair prices. She also tries to source as much as possibly locally, which i admire.
and the taste! oh! i havent had anything i didnt like. She has a true talent, and her years in school can show. The baristas are all well trained, and they offer blue coppers roasts which are some of the best in salt lake.
I am a huge fan of this establishment and heartily recommend it to anyone!
Pros: taste, hours, employees are great!
Cons: ???, ???, nothing in my book
