Never again! - Edit
After waiting a long time before we were allowed to order, we specifically pointed to the vegan dishes in the menu.
Read moreWe ordered the vegan lasagna and a different vegan dish.
The lasagna came with a pasta dish with cheese. After we complained we were told that the ordered vegan dish was no longer available.
We then ordered a second vegan lasagna and have eaten the first together.
When the second lasagna was served I asked the completely overburdened waitress why it looked so different from the first one. The answer was "she's vegan".
So the first one was not !!!
The worst experience I ever had in a restaurant.
Absolutely no recommendation !!!
Pros: None, unfortunately
Cons: expensive, unfriendly incompetent staff, very bad Service

Good vegan option in Ravenna - Edit
We first wanted to go the Amaranto (on a Sunday) but the owners were struggling with English and they told us the only option was to have the buffet (20€). Unsure about their ability or willingness to let us order by the menu (maybe the kitchen closes soon on Sunday), we went to the Osteria Passatelli we passed by earlier seeing they had vegan options clearly labelled.
Read moreWe had the vegan "cappelletti di farro con ripieno di zucca e mandorla" (cappelletti stuffed with pumpkin and almonds), which doesn't appear to be on the menu online but was proposed to us at this time and it was very good. Maybe the portion wasn't big enough (even more for 11.9€) but the meal was good. And it was good not to have to order side dishes to have something vegan.
Pros: (good) vegan options, good location
Cons: a bit expansive for a plate of pasta

Mediocre - Edit
Like the previous reviewer, I also had the veggie lasagna and it was clearly just heated up from maybe the previous day, a little hardened around the edges. It tasted okay but nothing outstanding.

Very green lasagne! - Edit
We spotted the vegan section on the menu when walking to the mosaics, so returned later for lunch. There were five vegan options, which seemed pretty good. I tried to order the cured sausage platter, but was told that it was "finished" - it was lunch time on a Monday, so I'm not sure if they'd run out of an ingredient or if it was off the menu altogether. Instead, I got the lasagne. I was expecting some tomato sauce, roasted veg and cheese (there is also a Caprese salad on the menu, so they must do vegan cheese), but it was largely peas and carrots! It was a very green lasagne, and if you're looking for plenty of veg you'll probably enjoy it. It was fine, but not spectacular - I'd try the vegan burger instead next time. It's great to see some vegan options anyway, even if this one wasn't quite to my taste. It would be a great option for a vegan eating with omnis, as it will have something for everyone.
