May or may not be vegan food - Edit
There are definitely vegan options in this place. But the owner does not know or not care what vegan is. She says she is also vegan but tries to serve us dairy. Some food we are told contains milk but when we say we dont eat that she insisted its vegan milk. She said everything is vegan but there was fish on display. We do speak Turkish (native) and english. Yet we could not communitcate. So confusing. At the end of it we are not sure if we ate eggs or not today. What we ate tasted fine but I will avoid this place in the future.

We live in Istanbul (both vegan) and thought we would try out this place based on happy cow and ŕeviews from other services.
Read moreThe woman who owns this restaurant does not know what vegan is. We speak Turkish and the information she gave us about the content of the food was purposefully misleading. We were served food with meat in and when we questioned this we were told it was soy. When we questioned this further we were told the soup is vegan, although they listed butter in the ingredients, and that the bread was homemade without yeast (as they thought vegans could not have yeast). The bread was not home made. The meal we ate had meat in it. We believe the potato salad and other dishes were also not dairy and egg free. We were told they had yogurt in them and this became vegan yogurt only when we said we were vegan.
This was both upsetting and very concerning for us. Please remove this listing.
If you do visit I would suggest asking the contents of the food but do not say you are vegan. This way you can establish if it is meat or dairy. Simply everything became vegan in order to sell it to us.

I was there about a year ago and absolutely loved it! The lady was so nice, the food was incredible, and they just had a very nice environment.

Lovely vegan/vegetarian food - Edit
We had the mixed vegan plate, which had many options of local vegetables on it. The owner of the café, a very nice lady, brought us some freshly cut apples too. The Café is located in a small street in the neighbourhood of balat, we had an entertaining view on the stray cats😉Our food and the conversation with the lady were so lovely, so we‘re a bit sad about the apps rating function. We would give her a solid 5 star rating😄

Vegan made local food - Edit
They have really great vegan options which are very close to the traditional local dishes! The lady in the cafe was very friendly and showed me a great choice of vegan options and also showed me how she prepared the dishes! Really friendly and super delicious!
