A tea store that sells loose leaf teas, Matcha, and tisanes (herbal teas) in addition to a tea bar. As of Feb. 2024, the tea bar menu includes several oat milk based drinks (iced matcha & oat milk, matcha & water, blue jewel, milk tea and hojicha latte). Also has several loose leaf teas available (black, oolong, green, chamomile and ginger). The base of all drinks is oat milk and maple syrup/black sugar. Most of the goods are sourced from family-owned gardens in East & Southeast Asia. Sells products to make drinks at home. Removed November 2024 - no longer offering take out drinks.

MATCHA WITH DEFAULT OATMILK - Edit
Love the regular Matcha! So good, not too bitter and not too sweet. I also tried the PARU Milk Tea which was too milky for me and the flavor of the tea was not very strong which I would have preferred. Not really a place to sit and drink more like a grab and go place. LOVE THAT it’s made with oatmilk as I am vegan.

While looking for my favorite matcha in San Diego, PARU has been mentioned a few times. I opted for the matcha & oat milk latte, and it was pretty good. Creamy and not bitter, however, I had hoped for a bit stronger matcha flavor. I am no expert, so I cannot speak to its authenticity, but I did enjoy my drink.
Read moreThe menu is oat-based and uses maple syrup/black sugar as a sweetener. I did not ask nor look at everything in the shop, but it appeared to possibly be fully vegan. The shop itself is cute, but as a note, there is no seating. While I personally was out of my realm as a casual tea drinker, I still thought it was a fun stop while in La Jolla.
(5-star rating based on the assumption that the shop is all vegan — I will ask next time I visit).
