Delicious fresh scones - Edit
When I was there, only freshly baked scones in different variety were offered, but they were very delicious.

Delicious vegan baked goods - Edit
I think this place may be completely vegan. When I asked in Japanese if they used dairy in anything they said no, and I confirmed this by reading the ingredient labels on several items. They use soy milk and Amazake in place of dairy. Their main oil appears to be expeller pressed Canola oil, which is a very healthy oil for Japan.
Read moreThey have a variety of prepackaged cookies with an anti-moisture pack inside so that they keep for a few months. These were mostly very healthy tasting (mildly sweetened), for example, cookies using purple sweet potato. The fresh baked goods such as cinnamon rolls were a bit more decadent, but very tasty.
The goods I bought were sweetened with maple syrup, but they may use honey in other goods. As the previous reviewer said, I would award five stars if possible.

Only their steamed bread uses honey. I so wish they would use maple syrup in that as well!

Incredible Vegan Pastries - Edit
An almost fully vegan bakery in Miyakojima, using natural and often local ingredients. We first discovered them when we arrived on the island and stopped by the local Atarasu Farmers Market, which is one of the places where they stock them. We got a purple sweet potato scone, a focaccia, and a purples sweet potato cinnamon cookies. They were really delicious and affordable!
Read moreWe looked them up and found their actual bakery. They are open four days a week, with each day focusing on a different special, for example "Muffin Day", "Scone Day", etc.
The first day we stopped by there was Friday or "Bread Day". We got a Miyako sweet potato anpan, cinnamon roll, apple soy cream bread, veggie curry bread, Miyako dill bread with soy cheese, Miyako roselle muffin, and a tomato onion soy mayo bread. It felt like we had stumbled on a cave of treasures! Everything was just spectacular. Yesterday (Wednesday) I got their shikwasa muffin and island banana muffin from the Miyako Island Station. And today (Thursday) I got a coconut banana muffin, caramel almond chocolate muffin and a purple sweet potato scone. We are in Miyako for three weeks, so I plan on enjoying their vegan pastries as often as I can!
Even thought their opening times are limited, you can still buy their products at Atarasu Farmers Market and Miyako Island Station seven days a week. Unless they run out, of course!
I really wish I could give them all 5 stars!
