Vegan Oasis! - Edit
Our stay at Paradiso was a slice of heaven. Situated in the beautiful Alpe Di Siusi, the location is an exceptional home base to explore the area. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with warmth and kindness. The hotel has such an elegant and artistic vibe which added to our comfort. The food was exceptional. Such thought and creativity went into each plant based dish. Breakfast is served buffet style and has clearly marked vegan and gluten free options. The dinner which is included in your room fee was nothing short of gourmet. Meals start with a shot of home made kombucha. Each night we looked forward to trying the new menu options. The wait staff was attentive and go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. They also note on arrival your dinning preferences and restrictions and are sure to accommodate them throughout your stay. Lunch is available for purchase and can be made take away for hikes. The only negative part of our stay was that it had to end. Looking forward to a return trip to Paradiso in the future. If you are vegan and visiting the Dolomites do not hesitate to book!

Veganes Rundumpaket - Edit

We had the whiskey braised seitan sandwich - such a nice change of pace from pasta pomidoro and cheeseless pizza! And the patio and views were beautiful!

Haute Vegan Dining in Paradise - Edit
Where to start...firstly the beautiful, recently retrofitted hotel sits at 2000 m altitude next to a lovely piste in the middle of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site. The skiing is gorgeous: wide, well kept pistes under impossible blue skies are a reason enough to be here.
Read moreThe hotel is run by a family that also owns two other vegan hotels in Italy and is as serious about hospitality as they are about sustainability and, of course, food.
The team is lovely, friendly and helpful, rooms are comfortable without being ostentatious and the hotel is filled with contemporary art including by a number of artists who have taken residence here since it reopened.
And then the food.
Impossiblytalented chef Aggeliki Charami who also runs the kitchen at the Koukoumi hotel im Mykonos in the summer, has been in charge since last year as Paradiso transitioned to fully vegan - no mean feat in South Tyroll (or mountains in general!).
Aggeliki and her team produce food of impossibly high standards, inspired by her native Greece, Italy and everywhere in between.
Half board includes buffet breakfast (pumpkin porridge was a revelation), filo pastries stuffed with everything from herbs to peppers, excellent tofu scramble, fantastic selection of pastries (cream filled croissant anyone?) and a desert table heaving under crumbles, creamy tarts and chocolate delights.
Alo included is the dinner: a five course symphony of high end cooking mastery that changes daily with a 9 day rotation: last night there was a delicious cheesy foccacia to start - probably the best I ever had, followed by a version of the Ceasar said after which there were chickpeas in celery broth and the most sublime seitan lasagna i have ever tasted.
Finished of by millefoglie with pistachio ganache and yuzy cream.
It is insane.
There is also a la carte lunch available that has pizzas, vegan fried egg, bao buns and my personal favourite, gnudi pasta a la carbonara - so good I had it twice in a week. Which is 2 out of 3 lunches I actually managed to squeeze into my seriously expanded waistline.
I absolutely enjoyed everything and so did the non vegan guests who were certainly the majority last night.
The very much non vegan people aplauded the chef as one would a rock star.
And this evening I am looking forward to my Omnia fine dining (as if everything else wasn't) 9 course experience that I will write about separately.
I could not be happier - thank you Paradiso and Chef

Heavenly health on the Italian Ski slopes - Edit
Skied over to the Vegan Hotel from Selva yesterday. The ski was divine the sun shone the snow sparkled like diamonds, however, the real jewel was this amazing Vegan Hotel. We only had time for a pretty quick lunch but the menus will blow your vegan plant based mind. The food is phenomenal, so creative and so very tasty, a real treat. So much to choose from and, as any vegan knows, it was a pure joy to be able to just point a finger at any item on the menu know that is was safe, cruelty free, no death just love and taste.
The setting is beautiful, the design as you would expect from an Italian based high end venue. The service and staff excellent, the staff made us both feel so welcome and looked after us so well.
We did not have time to explore the hotel but nonetheless will be booking a week in the this perfect jewel of a place for a ski trip next season. We are also thinking of booking for a summer trip too.
Don't miss out, if you are a skier you just have to try this wonderful place located in some of the best skiing areas in the world.
Real big thanks to the clever people who created this superb place!

What a discovery!! - Edit
Just stopped for lunch at the only vegan hotel in the Alps. Just a snack but blown away by the vegan 'fried egg' I ordered. And the dinner menu is excellent and needs to be sampled properly. Obviously seriously talented chefs here. So we will be staying here next ski season. No doubts at all! And the Alpe de Siusi are stunning and linked to the Sella Ronda too. We have been searching for somewhere like the Paradiso and we have now arrived.

We stayed at the Paradiso hotel three nights, which included a breakfast buffet each day along with a five course vegan dinner. Check out the photos from our dining experience. The room we stayed in, hotel, and staff were all delightful. We also stayed three nights at the sister hotel about 90 minutes away called La Vimea. Both are worth a return trip.

Amazing vegetarian and vegan food! - Edit
Randomly came upon this restaurant while hiking in the area and I was so happy to find it! Went for lunch (only open from 12-2pm) and almost their entire menu is vegan and gluten free, they have a few vegetarian options. It was pretty expensive but that makes sense. We were the only people there the entire time. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. I would definitely go back if I were in the area again.

Sublime food, amazing location and incredible staff - Edit
Everything about Paradiso is amazing. The rooms are beautifully cosy and quiet, the surrounding landscape is astonishing, the food is delicious and truly 5 star and the staff are so welcoming. We absolutely loved our stay here - but a special thanks to the staff who accommodated our extra requests (eg plain rice with dinner to stock up for a long run!).

I love this place - Edit
I've stayed here several times and also several times at other hotels owned by the family. The rooms are high quality, food is really delicious and after a night at a refuge with terrible vegan options, we appreciate it even more.

amazing food, room and spa, super friendly and competent staff - Edit
We were here for a couple of nights and really loved it! Although it is not a cheap place, it is absolutely worth every cent. We chose one of the very modern „pure“ rooms for our stay (there are also „traditional“ wooden types of rooms). Breakfast was yummy. Usually I had roasted potatoes, scrambled tofu, fresh tomatoes, salad and a hot chocolate with oat milk. If you prefer a sweet breakfast, you can have croissants, bread or rolls with marmalade, fresh fruits and a big variety of cakes and biscuits.
Read moreDinner was absolutely amazing! 5 courses, most of them vegan (of course you can have only vegan options, too). You can really taste how well the cooks know what they are doing. It is not simply yummy, it is absolutely delicious!
Lunch (12-3) and afternoon cake is also available.
There are 3 different kinds of saunas downstairs. Loved the „hay“ sauna as it was very moist and not too hot. Free tea and tab water are available. There is also a warm water pool (inside) and a hot tub (outside). — Bring your own flip flops! —
You can go hiking, for example to the „Denti di Terrarossa“ directly from the hotel or borrow e-bikes (for a fee).
The terrace has a super comfy lounge area where you can read a book and have a drink. The mountain view is magical.
On the ground floor there is a pool table (no fee) and a foosball „Kicker“ table game (not sure if there is a fee)
Needless to say, the staff are super, super nice!!
