Hugely improved! - Edit
UPDATE (2025): Domino’s have removed most of their vegan selection and I saw Papa John’s have updated their recipes so we decided to give them another try! And I’m glad we did as the new pizzas are great!! This time we went for a large La Vie Vegan Works, large Vegan Garden Party, La Vie Vegan Ham and Sheese Sticks, and Cauliflower Wings. Both pizza flavours were great with lots of tasty toppings and tasty Sheese, and the pizza dough was nice and chewy! I really enjoyed both the pizzas and the sticks and would gladly order them again. The cauliflower wings were similar to last time we had them - decent but not great.

Great selection but the food itself needs work:
We would normally go for Domino's to satisfy our pizza takeaway cravings but it was New Year's Eve and they didn't have the usual great offers on so we decided to try Papa Johns instead.
I was surprised to see what a large vegan selection Papa Johns have with around 15 different options, including pizzas, sides and desserts!
Me and my partner went for an XXL The Vegan Works pizza, a large All Day Breakfast pizza, vegan sweet chilli and cheese sticks, and cauliflower wings.
Initially I thought the pizzas were pretty good. I quite enjoyed my first couple of slices of the All Day Breakfast pizza, although I started to find the taste a bit strange after that. I thought The Vegan Works pizza was decent initially although again the more I ate the less I liked it. After a handful of slices of each I stopped eating as I actually started to feel a bit sick and the idea of eating them felt really unappealing. I've never experienced this with Domino's – I can just keep eating and even when I'm stuffed I can't help eating more if it’s there, but with these pizzas I just couldn't bring myself to eat more.
The sweet chilli and cheese sticks were too spicy for me so I can't really comment on how good they were and I would say the cauliflower wings were just okay. They weren't bad they just weren't very good.
Overall I appreciate that Papa Johns are at least trying to cater for vegans as they do have a large vegan range, but I do think the actual food needs a lot of work and it's nowhere near competing with Domino’s at this point.
