Convenient location w Decent Food - Edit
The food was alright, nothing I’d write home about. I had the country sampler. It was about $14 and came with BBQ tofu, cornbread, Mac n cheese and corn / broccoli.
Read moreThe cornbread was the best part. BBQ tofu was ok. It was the type of vegan Mac that tastes mostly like mustard. Seemed like the corn was out of a can. Broccoli was really salty.
I’d go again if that’s what a bunch of my friends had already planned, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way on my own accord.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Conveniently located, Comic books available
Cons: Limited parking, Long wait times

Great Prices, Mediocre Flavor - Edit
The prices were awesome and quite reasonable considering how huge the portion sizes were, but I felt like the flavors were a bit flat. Not quite enough spices. We had the coconut curry and the nachos, both were okay but nothing to rave about. The staff were not engaged either, which is always a little disappointing.

homey deli spot with above-average eats - Edit
Picked up a reuben, a BBQ sandwich, and a cheesecake here. Overall, everything was pretty A-OK, and I especially appreciate having a vegan deli experience that's not slick and branded, but clearly just people doing what they're good at and they love to do. The bbq sandwich was flavorful and hearty. As for the reuben, I was a little less crazy about the balance of flavors. I would prefer something other than corn chips with no dip for a side.

Absolutely delicious food. I felt spoiled for choice here, and I can’t wait to go back. Had the Grrunt and the Reuben and both were very satisfying. The cheesecake is also great, so don’t miss it!

Meh - Edit
I ordered nachos with taco tofu and a hibiscus cooler, both of which were really good. The cooler had a touch of cinnamon which was unusual but I really enjoyed it. My wife built a plate with Mac and cheese that she loved, and with mashed potatoes and gravy that she hated. The potatoes had skins which she doesn’t like and the menu didn’t mention. The mushroom gravy was the deal breaker though. It was truly gross. We are not local here so not heart broken about not going back. However it was not worth the effort it took to find this place.

Had the coconut curry, marinated tempeh, cheesy broc & the collard stew. All so good - recommend everything. A and good chill vibes, love when you can pick & choose exactly what you want. A little slice of comfort heaven and tastes like mama cooked it, but better. 🥰😇

Down-To -Earth Goodness - Edit
I had a great experience at this small deli. The only staff person working was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered nachos after being told that they make their cheese sauce from veggies--awesome! My nachos were delicious. I couldn't eat them all because the portion size was enormous (and, I am a big eater). Best of all, the cheese and veggie toppings were layered in between the chips, not just sprinkled on top. I really appreciated the signs on the wall explaining their values, food sourcing, and waste reduction measures. This is a no-frills down-to-earth eatery where you can get yummy, healthy food. I look forward to going back.

a little underwhelming - Edit
We were hopeful about this place, but unfortunately we didn't love it all that much... We ordered a reuben sandwich and the nachos, and I found it a little odd that the reuben was served with plain corn chips as a side? The reuben was pretty good but nothing spectacular and the nacho cheese sauce was a little watery, plus the "taco tofu" on top of the nachos was burnt to crumbs. If the prices were cheaper I would be more likely to return, but there are several other places in Portland that charge similar prices for better food in my opinion

love this place - Edit
Went yesterday and had the house nachos and the TLT on a gluten free bun. I didn’t really know what to expect but the food was absolutely perfect. Probably my favorite tempeh that I’ve had and that’s really saying a lot. The nachos were on point too - totally pleased with the food and experience.

Organic - Edit
I liked their potato salad.
Read moreSome reviewers have noted that the prices are high but they are roughly in line with Portland prices The chef explained that all of his food is organic and that keeps his costs higher. I like having organic food in comparison to other local restaurants who say they "try" to be organic. This is my favorite Portland vegan restaurant.
Pros: Organic

Great home cooking - Edit
Finally made it in, and we were not disappointed. The kids (not vegan) loved the nachos and asked to come back again. My wife and I both devoured the Reuben. I know we should have ordered different plates to give a good review but it was the first thing on the menu and I'm glad we didn't make it any further because it was a pleasure to consume it like a rabid dog. The single person working was great and helpful (I'm assuming she was an owner). The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. Location is good and easily accessible. The deserts look awesome but we were to full to try them.
