Decent brunch, but no other labeled vegan options - Edit
We had the vegan brunch plate, which was no culinary delicacy but it was decent -- it was the first place I have seen on NZ that made the effort to add tofu.
Read moreWe returned later for some more food, but didn't find anything on the menu that would be labeled as vegan or looked veganizable.

Few vegan options - Edit
We were happy to find something in the area when visiting the pancake rocks as the closest town is a 20 minute drive away. This small cafe had a few vegan options like dumplings and a pizza (with vegan cheese!). They also offered a vegan brunch but it was too late to order it. The dumplings come with a honey soy sauce so ask without it (tip: bring your own soy sauce from a supermarket). Food was good.
