Death Valley Secret - Edit
After a few days of cooking on our own it was nice to find a spot in the literal middle of nowhere. They offer wifi so a great place to get a social media fix, and have a more than decent selection of beers if that’s a way you’d like to relax with. Due to the age of their liquor license they only offer liquor part of the year, and unfortunately not in the busier, cooler weather season. The staff was small but kind and our waitress happened to mention she was vegan and picked up on our order immediately helping us navigate it (she mentioned one of the cooks is also vegan so hopefully we can see menu changes in the future) It’s a fairly simple Americana Diner menu, burgers, fries, and grill items so the veg options are usually by modification or omission making it limited but considering there is no other place in Death Valley it’s nice to have anything at all. The portions were sizable and honestly it was a solid housemade bean burger patty. I had the spicy Santa Fe burger and my friend had the California burger (both sans cheese and subbed patty, on sourdough instead of non vegan buns) They’ll definitely work with you to make sure you eat.
