Situated in a shady spot with an open kitchen and rows of stools at a wood counter, screened from the town streets by flowering plants. Open Tue-Sat 9:00am-3:00pm. Closed Sun-Mon.

Vegan in Pedasí - Edit

Location: the south corner of Parque Central , next to Mini Super Parque.

With a welcoming and calm atmosphere, a view of flowering plants and the town square, Panamaste is currently the only vegan spot in Pedasí. Smoothies (veggie or fruit combos) , fresh natural juices, veggie wraps, salads and sandwiches on sourdough bread are on the menu, with ingredients changing seasonally. I enjoyed my papaya -ginger smoothie and look forward to trying some of the veggie smoothies soon. The proprietor Claris makes delicious and interesting veggie wraps and nicely spiced hummus, and I’ve tried both.

Panamaste has a table at the local Fresh Friday market, at the artisan shop Pedasí Love , 10AM -noon on Fridays, selling take out wraps, juices and hummus to go. If you’re in town, check out the home made bread, cookies, salsa, & home grown veggies there too.

PS. Though Panamaste is the only vegan café in Pedasí, nearby surfing beach Venao has just gotten a vegetarian cafe, Alma Verde. Things are looking up!
