Researched this to possibly go there, but appears to be permanently closed. Maybe a local can confirm this?

Amazing Food and Staff - Edit
It was a little hard to find. We didn’t realize it was attached to the gas station. We’re very glad we took the time to find it. We’ll worth it. We’ve been traveling in New Zealand for over a month and this is definitely the best food we’ve had. It’s all plant based and delicious. The staff are so kind and helpful. Highly recommend this to all people meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. The flavors are wonderful.

Right, firstly, you'll find this gem at Farmer's Carpark, & a smaller outlet at GAS where Google maps shows it is.

Eating for two - Edit
Food here is so so good I can’t help but order enough for two - have started pretending I have a girlfriend and take an extra set of cutlery so they don’t get suspicious. Don’t think they’ve caught on yet
Read moreHave 2 locations currently - the one in tikipunga as listed has a wider range of options including hot food, also have a location in town at Laurie hall lane near farmers which now has expanded to have both cabinet and hot menu items

Fantastic lunch in Whangarei - Edit
We had a bowl, a dosa and a bagel which all tasted amazing and were jammed full of yummy things. They had the best vegan ginger slice I've found. Portion sizes were large so we'll be enjoying the leftovers today.

Not Open - Edit
Sadly this place was advertised as open on HappyCow site but definitely closed. Rang and visited the site but a big wrought iron gate definitely closed. A notice would of been appreciated. Actually looked permanently closed.

A hidden little gem - Edit
I found the place via Maps and lucky I did - if I had just walked down the street I would have probably missed it. A space between two buildings was set up as a really cool little open air cafe, with furniture made of recycled wood and big pots with herbs and other plants. I love that they seem committed to good food, mostly wholesome and organic.

Cute and cosy wee place, super friendly owners. The food was so tasty with fresh ingredients, generous portions and well priced. Selection of dosas and salads and specials served in cardboard trays to eat in or take away. My go to place in Whangarei.

The genuine article - Edit
Everybody fantasises about finding an innovative little vegan cafe tucked away somewhere with a passionate and super-talented chef at the helm, right? Palate is it. Zee Tana is an extraordinarily talented cook who has completely synchronised his menu and his kitchen with micro-seasonal local produce supply. This is a fast-changing and ultra nutricious feast of the most exquisite local ingredients available on a given week.
Read moreThe cafe itself is tucked around the corner from the Town Basin, or a 2 minute walk from the city centre. A strange and sensationally rewarding oasis that we locals are lucky to have.

Great little cafe...a nice, healthy lunch. - Edit
We stopped here for lunch needing some good healthy, plant based kai after struggling in some parts of our road trip around the Far North. We tried 3 of the salad options from the cabinet & a delicious carrot & pea fritter which was warmed & drizzled in aioli. Award winning fritters here & you can taste why!

Great place - Edit
Everything is vegan. The place is not super big, just a cozy little place but one of two vegan places in Whangarei. We had a single salad (you can choose from six different salads, have one or all six)and the fritter, both very good. The waffle was s bit dry but also good. Maybe we should have asked for more maple syrup.
