Overrated. Curry tastes like nothing. Staff could e friendlier - Edit
This restaurant is overrated. Ambiente is quite nice. Service is ok. The starters were ok but the curry tasted like nothing. We waited relatively long for the main course.
Read moreI ordered the Mushroom Matar Malai. I don’t know what it was, but definitely not Matar Malai. It looked and tasted like soy cream with tinned mushrooms. They didn’t use fresh mushrooms - what’s a no go for me. Furthermore, there were no matar (green pees), no kurkuma, no ginger, no garlic and none of all those nice flavours and spices which would belong into a Matar Malai. It’s a shame for everyone who loves Indian curries. The cook should do a lesson how to make proper curries. So I don’t recommend to go there for the curries.
Anyway, the waiter reduced the bill a bit after our complaints, what’s very generous.

Vegan options in Mauritius are always limited but this place has a few options to choose from. I had the chickpea curry with lentil soup (twice) and it was fantastic. I felt like I was enjoying a real local meal instead of altering menu items to be vegan. The fairy lights make it. Just beautiful.

6 veggie dishes + 2 vegan "on menu" - Edit
2 vegan options, including one with polenta. I wanted to go for that one, but the server told me they didnt have.. As i'm not fully vegan i went for the veggie curry which was pretty good. My friend had the vegetarian tandoori which he really liked. Server was nice and the place is cute.

They have 2 marked vegan main courses and a few other dishes that can be made or served vegan (fries, salads, curries). We food was flavorful and colorful, we were pleasantly surprised, and the staff was very nice (our server told us she’s vegetarian and assured us that everything we got was indeed vegan).

Local little gem 🌟 - Edit
Owners are the kindest people and the place is really cute. Serves both fish, meat and veg-options. Best thing for me on the menu is the french fries which has a special slice and then their Mauritian salad that I got absolutely addicted to!
Read moreMy mom ate their tuna dish, and said it was the best tuna she ever had. The beef steak was also one of my friends favorite and during our 6 month stay we came back to this place again and again. Their home made raspberry ice tea is also delish!
Pros: Kind staff , Good prices , Simple but delicious food
Cons: Close to the road (noice).
