Exceptional Vegan Food - Edit
There is a section of the menu that is dedicated to vegetarian and vegan items. We ordered a squash risotto, a vegetable pasta and something like tacos. All three were exceptionally delicious. The food quality for vegan items in an omnivore restaurant absolutely exceeded expectations. Some of the best vegan food we’ve had.
Read moreThe service was excellent. They put up with my questions and curiosity about the food. The chef worked in a Michelin star restaurant for ten years before getting a masters in Mexican cuisine. The ambiance was fun and original.

Pasta vegana deliciosa y servicio atento - Edit
Pasamos por el restaurante Planta Baja a última hora de la tarde y lo encontramos relativamente tranquilo, con solo un par de mesas ocupadas. El ambiente era calmado, y nuestro mesero fue muy amable y servicial al aclarar la sección vegetariana—todo podía hacerse vegano, lo cual fue excelente.

I went at opening and the place was empty. I got a beer which was an ok choice, their selection of cocktails looks great. The Crioquete was tasty but too mild. Excellent service and a dedicated vegan section on the menu!

We came to watch the sunset, boyfriend hat the risotto and I the plantain. We asked the waiter about vegan options and he was very accommodating! The food was amazing!

Read moreWe ordered an appetizer and lunch. Mike had aglass of wine and I had a lemonade. The food is fresh, and delish. Mike's risotto was spot on even with the tiny flavor from the coconut milk. My dish was an indigenous mole dish and was perfect. We very much enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, right on the water.
Our server was great. Super kind and very knowledgeable about the vegan menu. Parking is easy.Plenty of space. Definitely worth a visit when in the area.

The chef has a small vegan menu, much of which is also gluten free. He also pointed out what else was vegan, like the dinner rolls, and what can be made vegan, like the mushroom risotto, which he offered to make with vegan cream cheese!

Best Vegan Soup! - Edit
The Zucchini Soup with fried corn tortilla, sour cream was so good!! The sour cream can be made vegan. My husband had the Planta baja tortilla soup, served with onion, fresh vegan cheese, pasilla chili. He thought it was the best tortilla soup he’s ever had! Wonderful views of the ocean & the sound of crashing waves. Not to mention great margaritas!

We drove about 10 minutes from where we were staying to reach this restaurant. It’s at the entrance to Ensenada off the highway. Unfortunately the sky bar was closed which is what I was looking forward to, probably because it was December 30th and not many people in town.

The salad was delicious with the orange dressing and the risotto... I can’t say enough. I took the rest home and heated it up the next day and it was just as good. Honestly one of the best dishes I’ve ever had in my life. My boyfriend got the ceviche. While smaller, he said it was good. We got complimentary bread and asked the waiter if it had eggs or butter in it. At first he said yes, went to the kitchen, came back, apologized and let us know it was vegan bread. It was so good.
A little pricier (still affordable for those who aren’t accustomed to Mexican prices) but I would definitely come back for the risotto and to see the sky bar.

This place is an amazing find. Had the vegetable coconut risotto and it was very good. Wish they had more options but the place has an amazing view, good food and good drinks, just need more Vegan visitors.
