Wonderful hotel that offers vegan meals and one of the best baths in town!

My husband and I were looking for a place in Owani to stay while we went skiing. I asked this hotel if they could accommodate vegans and to my surprise, they said that they could! We booked a room and made sure to specify we wanted vegan meals at the time of booking.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The baths were PERFECT! A big indoor bath and a nice outdoor bath and a sauna. I saw and heard swans flying above me when I was in the outdoor bath. I love all of the art around the hotel. The lobby and dining area are really nice and have good views.

The food was quite good! It was A LOT of food. Too much for me to eat. I was stuffed! But for someone who has a large appetite, it would probably be perfect! Some of the dishes were a little bit lacking in flavor, but there was soy sauce so I used that to enhance as needed. There was a variety of food though including various kinds of tofu, beans, vegetables, fruits, and rice. It was quite satisfying!

The only sort of bad thing I discovered was for breakfast the natto (pre-packaged) came with a little sauce packet that contained fish stock. I just used soy sauce instead. This is actually a very common problem at hotels in Japan. But overall I was impressed with the food and grateful for their accommodation. It isn't easy finding hotels that will accommodate vegans in rural places such as this!

I would stay here again for sure!

Pros: Plenty of food, good variety, Friendly, accommodating staff, Nice baths and rooms

Cons: The amount was a little too much for me, The natto had fish in the sauce packet, some of the food was a bit bland
