Great vegan choices - Edit
Great to see new vegan ideas being used in sandwiches and they are fully aware of allergy contamination (dairy in my case)

Vegan options - Edit
When we visited, the mill cafe had a large menu of very varied foods but only 2 hummus-based savoury options and a vegan flapjack at the cake counter. On request they offer a vegan cream tea so I had that. The scone was freshly baked and had a good freshly baked crunch, served with jam and vegan spray cream.
Read moreIn the shop at the back (which I would give more stars to) there is vegan chocolate and vegan fruitcake and lemon slices for sale plus farm/mill ingredients like flour, veg.
Pros: Vegan options, Fresh baked scone, Great shop behind the cafe
Cons: Hummus basis for vegan options , Limited supply of vegan scones - take your chances, Spray cream for cream tea

Limited options - Edit
Stopped here for a cuppa, hoping to also find some nice vegan cake offering's alongside the delicious looking dairy cakes. Sadly - at least on the day we were there - they only had a basket of pre-packed commercially produced cakes, so we passed on that. Lunch options looked better but disappointing on the cake front!

Delicious food, friendly service - Edit
A lovely lunch in a beautiful location. Menu items on the specials board clearly note which dishes are or can be made vegan. I had portobello mushrooms with Mediterranean vegetables, yum!

Great for vegan specials - Edit
Otterton Mill is in a lovely countryside location, with a beautiful walk along the river Otter only a minute away.
Read moreAlthough their main menu (shown on their website) doesn't offer any vegan options they always have a great specials menu on offer, with clearly labelled vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free options making it easy for people with various dietary requirements (and some options are all of the above which is great).
During my most recent visit I ordered a vegetable chilli with rice and the flavours were amazing, with wonderful fresh veggies! Their soups are also usually vegan and gluten free, and are delicious if your after something light.
I would highly recommend this place to all. It has a relaxed atmosphere, and is great for lunch or afternoon tea. When the sun is shining the outside courtyard areas are great.
It does get busy during lunchtime at the weekend and the staff can seem a bit chaotic. It's worth arriving early, or a bit later (2pm-ish) to make sure you can get a table and don't have to queue for too long to order.
Pros: Great fresh food, Countryside location
Cons: Can get busy, Staff a bit disorganised
