A lovely setting with delicious food. The pasta dishes were Devine. Bellissimo!!

Amazing pizza - Edit
They have a vegan menu which we got amongst the regular menu, we did not have to ask for it. They have starters, main courses, pizzas and even desserts. I had pizza Margherita with rice mozzarella and it was amazing, really thin dough and tasty cheese. The restaurant is very cozy.

The Osteria was a great find for us, with very kind staff, a wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! We had the polenta-mushroom-eggplant starter and shared the vegan Margarita and were super happy with our choice! Would definitely recommend and we'll be back to try out more! 😋

We had dinner at Casa Pepe & enjoyed our pizza very much. Plenty of vegan choices, you have to ask for the vegetarian/vegan menu. Great pizza, fast service. Enjoyable atmosphere, exactly what I would want to experience in an Italian pizza place. Very recommendable.

How lucky we were to have found this L’Osteria! We asked for the vegan menu and were pleasantly surprised by the great and varied selection. The complimentary starter was already a lovely touch—and the appetizer, a polenta bruschetta, was absolutely amazing. I went on to have a stuffed pizza with rice mozzarella, a super tasty salad, fresh white bread with fantastic olive oil, and finished off with a delicious cake. The house wine was also delightful. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place—super friendly service, great atmosphere, and outstanding vegan cuisine.

Solid option in Trieste - Edit
You have to specifically request the vegan menu, as they by default give you a regular one without any marked vegan options I honestly thought it was overpriced for what it was, but the food was still nice. I was suggested to get 2 dishes as they said the portions were small, but 2 dishes was definitely too much for one person as the appetisers are quite big.

My friend (she’s doing veganuary!) and I were looking for affordable, vegan eats and this place is the best for it! We enjoyed their fried pizza appetizer (be warned, it’s huge) which was an easy 11/10. We tried two pizzas for our main which we were thrilled by. It’s not the best vegan cheese out there but it melts nicely and doesn’t taste too bad! If we were here longer, we’d try the full menu. Also, the 2euro extra charge someone reported isn’t for the free veggies- it’s the coperto. #Veganuary

More options than expected in Italy - Edit
You have to ask for a separate vegan menu (I don't understand why it's simply not a part of the menu everyone gets). There are a few options for every phase of an Italian dinner - antipasti, primi, secondi, dolce. There are also some vegan pizzas - but you can choose any vegetarian pizza on the ordinary menu and swap the mozzarella with a vegan one.
Read moreI tried parmigiana and some pasta. Both were very good - although I'd expect the portion of parmigiana to be a bit bigger (it was in the secondi section of the menu).
I'm definitely coming back to try some other things they have on the menu. :)

—They also gave us an appetizer which we hadn't ordered, the waiter told us its from the house, so I was a bit surprised when I saw it on the receipt afterwards, it was €2 per plate, for basically a piece of lettuce, two olives and a big caper. Felt a bit scummy, I have no idea if this is common in Italy as I've never seen this done before in other restaurants.—
It didn't take away from the experience that much as the rest of the food was really cheap, but still felt a bit scammed.

This traditional Osteria (although modern in appearance) is a perfect place for a lovely evening. Conveniently located with seating outside (reservations recommended) and inside offers a good range of vegetarian options and also has a vegan menu (you have to ask for it though).

So far the best dinner in Trieste. I recommend making a reservation. Competent staff. Vegan menu unfortunately only available on request. Excellent Italian cuisine without frills. Excellent! Coming back tomorrow.

Il menù offre antipasti, primi, secondi e un dolce vegano davvero buoni e gustosi. Le pizze hanno un impasto fantastico e sono ben farcite (anche la mozzarella di riso viene messa in abbondanza). I prezzi sono più bassi della media! Ambiente molto carino e accogliente con personale gentile. L'unica cosa che mi e dispiaciuta è dover chiedere il menù vegano perché, se non mi fossi informata prima, avrei ordinato una pizza marinara senza sapere che c'era un menù a parte così bello.

A cosy restaurant with a separate vegan menu (you have to ask for it). The food (vegan and non-vegan) was amazing. Some of the staff were super friendly, some equally (and strangely)unfriendly🤪. Couldn't lessen our delightful dinner experience though. Only disappointment: vegan dessert from the menu wasn't available. Will definitely go again hoping to get that dessert after all😂

we had dinner there. they have a seperate vegan menu. just tell the staff and they will bring it. i ordered pasta with tomatoes, olives and capers. which was super great. my girlfriend took vegan pizza. it was folded like a calzone, also super yummy. we were shocked by the prices. everything is super cheap. all thumbs up. best place to go in triest.
