Well worth the trip - Edit
Ortica is slightly off the beaten track, but easy to get to via public transport (eg bus 23 from the Trafford centre/Didsbury/Chorlton/Stockport runs within a few minutes away). Urmston station is also very closely.
Read moreWe booked on a cold Wednesday evening with friends; you have to put a £10 per person deposit down when pre-booking which is very sensible given its a small business so no-shows are very costly.
We were warmly welcomed and our food arrived in a timely manner. Aside from the usual menu there were some specials as well (we tried a few of them). I loved the vibe in the restaurant - it would make a nice place for a special date night meal as well as a great place for families and friends too.
The pizza was delicious - the vegan cheese was really melty (my kids are sometimes a bit funny about vegan cheese but they loved this one). The portions were enormous - we ended up taking some of our pizza home (I think on reflection our kids could have shared or a half price kids option on the menu would have been good). The fava bean starter was absolutely delicious.
The portions were so huge that we couldn't manage a dessert sadly - they did look yummy though.
It did take a bit of time to locate the menu (it was on google but my phone/computer didn't immediately who this ) - putting it on instagram and Facebook would be an easy fix.
We visit Manchester regularly and hope to visit again when we next are in this neck of the woods. Highly recommended.
Pros: Authentic & lovely staff, Delicious tasty food, Huge portions
Cons: Maybe a half price kids option on the menu, please add the menus onto Facebook and instagram

Authentic Italian - Edit
This is a beautiful deli with a small number of tables serving truly authentic Italian food which just happens to be all totally vegan. We shared bruschetta, vegetables and aubergine dip and then had pizza and gnocci followed by affogata. Every course was a delight, as was the wine, beer and amazing service from the owner.

Fantastic! - Edit
This was our second visit to this lovely restaurant and it was as great as the first. The service is good, the food delicious and the price reasonable. We shared nibbles for a starter and then had a couple of mains. We think the portion sizes are substantial so decided against a "full" starter this time but just about managed to squeeze in a dessert (we shared).
Read moreWe paid around £14 each for a substantial main meal and it was great to walk away from a restaurant feeling like we had a lovely evening AND value for money.
The drinks menu is varied and the designated driver and designated drinker were both happy! Nice cocktail and good wine selection. There is on street parking nearby and with a few bars in the area it has a nice atmosphere.
Pros: Lovely venue, Friendly staff, Delicious food

Perfect. The best of Italian cuisine and hospitality at a reasonable price - Edit
Italian food as it's meant to be - uncomplicated yet totally delicious. The menu is great, the restaurant decor and atmosphere is lovely and the service we received was perfect. We had olives and two specials; gnocchi with pepper sauce and a pizza. All was amazing. We also had coffee to take away for our journey home which was also great. I would definitely come here again.

In addition to an Amazing fully vegan menu, a very family friendly restaurant. We were a party of 8 with children as young as 4. All of us had a great meal and a good time thanks to the the friendly and attentive staff. They were happy to get a childrens pizza on the table super quick so the adults could relax and enjoy.

Proper Italian Vegan Food - Edit
We had a potato and green bean white pizza and a nduja and broccoli pizza. Lovely staff and so much choice that we want to come back and try everything. Just a shame it is in Urmston, so far away from where my sister and I live!

Incredible Italian food - Edit
The food here is incredible, I could not recommend it more! To start we ordered the ‘nduja bruschetta to share - it was the perfect portion size for sharing and was so full of flavour. For mains we ordered the lasagne and the courgette and mint gnocchi from the specials. Both tasted incredible, I could not fault them at all. I couldn’t leave without trying the pistachio gelato, which topped off the perfect meal! The staff are lovely and it is a gorgeous restaurant inside, I couldn’t recommend it more!

Amazing Italian food - Edit
Recently went to ortica for a date night with my partner. Very cute cosy restaurant, nice decor and very attentive staff. We had the bread basket to start and this was amazing - bread was super fresh and warm and came with an aubergine dip, pesto and one more which I can't remember but was very tasty. For mains we ordered the gnocchi and the aubergine parmagiana. My favourite was the parmagiana! So full of flavour. We finished up with a chocolate cake and the most amazing pistachio gelato. Highly recommend this place ❤️

Absolutely divine - Edit
I was in the neighbourhood and nipped in to see if they could do me a takeaway. I ordered a pinsa and took it to the park. Mushrooms, potato and truffle cream... it was delicious!! The staff were so warm and friendly. I sat at a table outside in the sunshine and they brought me a glass of iced water while I waited. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant even if you're not in the area. I'll be going back with friends and dining in next time.

An amazing find! - Edit
The bread basket was AMAZING. Best pesto I’ve ever had i high key recommend. The friarielli was really good, I recommend dipping the crust in the starter dips as well. Also got the current special, gnocchi, I personally didn’t like it too much but someone else did. The adffogato was super rich and creamy too. I also loved their organic soft drinks.
