Vegan restaurant est. 2018 by the owners of Ao26. Focus is on unprocessed vegan food, and makes most items in-house. Sample dishes such as waffles, dumplings, bruschetta with different toppings, and pasta. Offers a daily selection of cakes. Weekend brunch available 11-3. A private dining and events space is available for up to 35 people. Previously called O Botanista. Reported closed March 2024.

Found this on Happy Cow and we were delighted with the interesting menu.

It is always such a joy to find an excellent all vegan restaurant when travelling.
The waitress gave us a list of other vegan places in Lisbon and of course one of them was AO 26 which has same owners as Ortea.
I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Went for lunch and would have given ten stars it was that good. Amazing creativity and talent in the kitchen ...the food and service was amazing...It's rare to find an all vegan restaurant which also happens to be gluten free and everything made on site. Absolutely amazing I'm back in Lisbon next year and can't wait to revisit.

Ive been here 2 times and absolutely love it. This might be my #1 favorite restaurant in the world so far! The first time i came here i had the best pasta of my life. The second time everything was 10/10 again.

Food is delicious, staf is really friendly and Profesional. There are tables outside. Inside is really good looking. Overall very nice place, try it out you wont be disappointed.

Fed up of vegan burgers/lasagne/seitan that is served at so many vegan restaurants? This is for you. So many original dishes that were full of flavour. The only criticism is the names of the dishes are ridiculous, I had a “Sediment” and you could order a “Berlin” as well as” In Everything There is Beauty”.

We are fortunate that we live in Lisbon and this is one of our favorite restaurants in Lisbon. The food is always creative, fresh and delicious. We've been there more times than I'd like to admit and every time, the food has been spot on. We love the aesthetic of the spot too with so much greenery and plants. It's really lovely. Don't forget to meander upstairs to Pistacio to see their vegan offerings.

Loved this place so much after the first time that I went that I went again the next day. However, the second time the service was very poor. I asked for a glass of water and they never brought it to me. I also waited over an hour for my second course to come, and when I finally asked the waiter, he said he wasn't sure if I actually ordered it or not...?? Service aside, the food is beautiful and tasty. So many gluten free options!! Nice outdoor seating area.

We had an outstanding meal here. The place was full so make sure to book ahead. Really unusual flavour combinations, knowledgable staff, and excellent cocktails (by the glass or jug!) The decor is fabulous, with lots of plants and green walls. It feels relaxed yet upmarket. A real treat.

The dishes are beautifully presented and the ingredients fresh and tasty, but the portion sizes are small, the quantity of plant protein is lacking, and I left feeling somewhat hungry and unsatisfied.

Our first time to Orteá and very impressed! The food and drinks were fresh and scrumptious with plenty of creativity and love. The 'Rawoltini' raw dish was particularly impressive, and the Pad Thai was equally yummy. A great place for all food lovers!

We had a very nice lunch and enjoyed some delicious vegan food surrounded by lots of pretty plants. The drinks, dishes and cakes were really good and beautifully presented. The staff was very friendly too. Also most of the food was gluten free.

Wow what an amazing food experience. Delicious food, most dishes also gluten free, vegan fine cuisine at its best, with a ton of attention to details, bot in flavour and plating. They also have a mini botanical garden with tens of plants (100 maybe?) including a great mini cactus collection.
