Disappointing range of baked goods

Came at 1pm to try some vegan Belgian specialties but there was very little left in the bread shelve, mainly big breads, savoury pakora and non-vegan snacks. Ended up with a raisin bun which was alright. The store seems well-stacked with a variety of interesting organic foods but also a little bit pricy.

Shocking

I sometimes call into this store on my way from Brussels to Antwerp to buy organic wine and raw chocolate as a treat for ny partner, who lives in Antwerp. This evening, I was carrying a bag from the (fantastic) organic supermarket, The Barn in St Gilles, with some week-old vegetables that I wanted to eat over the weekend before they went off, and a half used box of my favourite herbal teabags. When I was trying to pay for 20 euro worth wine and chocolate (Origin’O is a pretty expensive store, folks), the owner asked to look in my bag. Maybe there’s a big problem with petty theft in health food stores in Belgium, so I showed it to him. He then accused me of trying to steal three (week-old) spring onions. When I protested (angrily, I will admit), he shouted at me that I was stealing. I was so shocked, I walked out of the shop, leaving the onions behind. I’ve also left this store behind. I will never buy anything there again, and I feel the attitude of the owner does not fit with the vegan/vegetarian community he serves. Why would someone buying an expensive bottle of wine and over-priced chocolate, steal three limp spring onions? It beggars belief. I won’t be wasting my money there again.

easy access to organic food

! They moved towards the main exit!
Convenient location when you have to transit trains in Bruxelles midi. For the small store they have quite a range of special vegan items, fresh fruits/veg etc.

Vegan pastry

I would come by here to get the tampeh pastry. It is so supper tasty and the only place where I found something savory and vegan.
You have to come in the morning if you want to have it. They don't get a lot and I wasn't able to catch the schedule of when they com out fresh.

Pros: unique , tasty snack

Cons: small quantity , not always available

Convenient

I am glad there is a store like Origin'o is the station. Very useful to grab something before catching a train.
Wide selection, prices are a little bit over the usual market price but you pay for the location.

Pros: Location, Selection

Overpriced - even when the price is correct

While it offers some basic organic staples, this shop is easily 10% more expensive than similar shops.
There are some vegan substitutes, but they're offered as an afterthought and are next to meat options or insect-based spreads...
You should always want to check that the prices on display match what you pay - there are often errors, and the owner has a bad attitude when exposed to it.

Pros: Organic food, Some vegan cheese, Easy to reach

Cons: Overpriced, Prices at register don't match display, Sells meat and insects

convenient but pricey

If you have time to kill before you get your thalys or Eurostar you might want to buy cookies and a drink there.
They have a decent range of vegan stuff (including wilmerburger chease) but it's not the cheapest place.

Pros: vegan stuff, convenient location

Cons: exensive, the station is noisy and crowded
