Issues - Edit
UPDATE: 2023-06-24
Read moreThey have updated their menu, and no longer have the vegan chipotle aoli.
And I STILL have issues when ordering here: despite their menu having clearly labeled vegan options, the kitchen doesn't seem to understand what this really means. You have to be very clear about omitting the non vegan aspects of a dish, or else they will put cheese and mayonnaise on everything.
Their menu has both the vegan and vegetarian the options clearly labelled; it should be noted that each vegan option is only made vegan by way of making substitutions to the dish.
In the past I have noticed the staff not understanding what makes a dish vegan or not, but now that the menu has dedicated vegan options, I assume the kitchen staff are familiar with the preparation of these dishes, but clarify with your server if you are in doubt.
My go-to used to be the "Baja Fish Tacos", which they substituted soy chicken for the fish, but this has been removed from the vegan options on the menu for some reason. So now I just stick with one of the burger combinations and ask for the soy chicken patty. The food is actually pretty good, and you can have "fresh" cut veggies (celery, red pepper, carrots) on the side instead of fries which is nice. They even have a vegan chipotle aioli available.
The atmosphere is a little hectic at times, as it is one of the more reliable spots to eat in Duncan, and they have a bar with large TVs set up all around the restaurant for every kind of sport to be shown simultaneously.
NOTE: there are ZERO vegan options on their brunch menu.
