A real treat!

Third time of eating here and it hasn't disappointed and they have enough vegan options to pick and choose between - I've enjoyed the mushroom espagnol, a pizza and penne aribietta on different occasions. Separate vegan menu which is always a (rare!) bonus. Very good service, attentive and friendly. Honestly as good as you are likely to get at a non-vegan restaurant.

Pros: Lovely food, plenty of options, Separate vegan menu, Good service

Cons: They are not a vegan establishment so serve meat.

Top quality

Lovely little restaurant with a full, separate vegan menu. Lots of choice including several puds. I had a falafel and hummus baguette with fries. Very tasty and well presented. Situated right on Poole Quay it is very handy for trips out in Poole Harbour.

Pros: Great choice of dishes, Very reasonable prices, Very friendly staff

Impressive full veg menu!

For a non vegetarian restaurant it was impressive they had a full menu of options! We had the espagnol mushrooms which were nicely home cooked, and the burger. The orange chocolate pudding was incredible and loved the sorbets. Highly recommend!

Pros: Great choice, Home cooked feel, Great location on seafront

Good vegan choices

We went here for lunch and I had a vegan cheese baguette with tortillas and then returned for breakfast.
The cafe had a lovely atmosphere.
There are a choice of vegan options for all meals.
My non vegan husband enjoyed his meals too.
Very friendly staff, especially Shannon.

Pros: Vegan choices, Quay side, Lovely atmosphere

Separate vegan and gluten free menu

Lovely vegan menu at this nice Italian by the quay. Accommodating staff and fresh and tasty food. Will be returning😄

Edited to reflect recent experience: visited about 2y after initial review, vegan menu was still extensive (unsure if is the exact same as previously). We had the Mediterranean sharing platter which was a bit weird bc we had 2 bowls of olives (so one whole bowl each, far too many) and one bowl of hummus. There wasn’t enough hummus for the bread we were charged £4 more for extra hummus which seemed excessive.

For mains I had the Mediterranean pasta which was slightly bland and I didn’t finish it.

We also had an issue with a stone in someone else’s meal which they made a fuss about taking of the bill, which lead to a heated discussion at the end and ruined the experience.

Overall, I’d recommend this place still due to the extensive vegan menu, but the freshness and quality could be improved (although wasn’t terrible). I don’t think we will be returning.

Lovely lunch

Stumbled upon this using the HC app. Pleased we did. Welcomed vegans. Nice atmosphere, it was busy but food was still quick to be served. Bit more pricey for vegan options but not too steep. Food very good & tasty. We had the Arrabiatta pasta & the vegan burger. We wanted pudding but no one came to take our order for that, so we left. But other than that all good, would return.

Pros: Good vegan choice , Lovely food, Good size - not massive but not stingy

Cons: Price a little higher for vegan options

Decent vegan options

We had the Falafel baguette. It was very good so much I forgot to take a picture. They have a separate vegan menu to include pizza, pasta and even vegan ice cream. The view isn’t bad either.

Pros: Has separate vegan menu, Nice atmosphere, Reasonably priced

Lots of options

Oriel have a dedicated vegan menu and had lots of veggie options on the main menu. I struggled to choose which was a lovely problem to have. I had the Buddha bowl and my partner had pizza, both were very tasty. Service was excellent

Great breakfast

Several really good breakfast options. Perfect portion size, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. I had a vegan sausage baguette, my wife had smashed avocado toast. All washed down with a super strong coffee, set us up for the day.
No pictures, too busy eating the tasty food!

Evening Meal & Breakfast

This is right in the middle of Poole Quay alongside pubs and fish restaurants, so it’s great that this restaurant offers a full separate vegan menu.
We had dinner and breakfast here. We had a stir fry for the evening meal, I wasn’t that keen it was a bit tasteless. Breakfast was smashed avocado on toast which was fine. The service however was really lovely, the staff are so attentive and very sweet. The restaurant itself is clean and tidy and actually for a busy bank holiday weekend they did well.

Pros: Dedicated vegan menu, Personable and lovely staff, Good atmosphere

No vegan menu in summer

Went here as was raved about for its designated vegan menu. That menu is not being done during tge summer holidays 😡 very little vegan options available. Even when we asked for the vegan ootion of the sharring platter it came out with the olives garnished with feta (tgey did apologise and change them straight away) did not live up to the hype!

Great place with a vegan menu!

Lovely little restaurant, you definitely need to book!
We visited on our way back from Brownsea Island. They have a vegan menu with tons of options for starter, Main and dessert. Even vegan hot chocolate!
I had the Thai cashew stir fry and the chocolate brownie! Really delicious and will definitely be back the next time we visit Poole!

Delicious and plenty of choice

Really great that they have a separate vegan menu. We had spicy vegan nachos, olives and fries, and my husband and son had puddings. Husband said you couldn’t tell the chocolate orange pudding was vegan. He loved it. Definitely recommend Oriel.
