Wundervoller Ort

Falafel Teller ganz großartig. Freundliches, engagiertes Personal. Lebendiger, pulsierender Ort etwas ausserhalb der Stadtmitte. Shop nebenan. Unbedingt empfehlenswert.

Pros: viele vegane Angebote, frische Salate, Kuchen, Tee

not satisfied

Was in the cafe with my son and felt totally out of place asking for vegan options. Unfriendly staff not knowledgeable about ingredients. Also paid over €30 for one plate with two salads and a so called burger, one plate with one salad and 4 falaffel's and two drinks. Same disappointment with dessert. Only two vegan choices. chocolate cake was alright. Food was fresh at least. Would only go back if no other option to get fed.

Friendly cafe, vegan options, wi-fi

Very surprised by the one negative review on this site.
We were met by friendly staff who took time to point out the vegan choices for myself while my husband had plenty of choices from the veggie menu. The food was delicious - fresh, tasty and well presented. We didn't notice any meat dishes on the menu the day we were there. The atmosphere is good. The staff charming. A wonderful experience all round....do not leave without trying the vegan cherry chocolate cake - incredible!

Pros: Good choice of dishes, Friendly staff, plenty of readinf material & wi-fi

Surprise Awesomeness

This place was amazing. It was beyond the expectations my friend and I had. We were basically going on a gastronomic tour of Ireland, while not our intention when we planned the trip to Ireland, we ended up traveling to different veg, and veg friendly food places. This was the best one.

It seemed like it was in a small town, not very close to much. Unless you are just driving around Ireland looking for vegan things. Oh, and Irish cliffs. The staff was super helpful and gladly pointed out all the vegan options on the menu of the day.

I had the veggie sausage plate with a variety of sides from the vegan options of the day, and it was all quite good. The best part though, was the chocolate cake (with vegan cream) and latte afterwards. Wow, what a combo. The price seemed quite reasonable for the amount of food we both got.

Pros: friendly staff, good prices, free wifi

Cons: seemed out of the way, staff had to put in password for wifi

Great find, great service, amazing food

After reading the negative review already posted, I could sum up my post by saying everything was the exact opposite when I went there.

There were 2 female employees working, and not only did they take time to tell us what was vegan, what their favorites were, ways to combine things for a combo deal, etc, they also gave us sight-seeing/tourist information of things to do in the area along our drive, where to find a music store and any other questions we bugged them with (seriously, we were there for a while and bordered on nagging them, possibly).

Free wi-fi, which they have to type in the password for you - kind of weird.

I had the lentil burger and 3 kinds of salads. All of them were INCREDIBLE. My friend had the veggie sausage and some different salads than what I had. We agreed that my lentil burger was better, but - really - everything was delicious.

They also have a full-service coffee bar, and the vegan latte I got was quite good. The orange-chocolate cake with cream (all vegan!) was to die for. Save room for dessert.

I can't say enough about how great this place was. Even days later, my friend and I are still talking about this place. Worth the trip from other parts of southern Ireland, that's for sure.

Bantry is a small town kind of in the middle of nowhere, but this is a hidden gem, for sure.

Pros: Great selection, Friendly staff, Extremely delicious

Cons: Middle of nowhere

Attitude, very limited selection & boring

Came here from the Green Lodge (vegetarian self-catering accommodation) a few minutes away. We were very excited but were soon very disappointed.

The server was annoyed when we asked which items were vegan. "A bunch of stuff" she said in a near huff. When we asked her to name them, she rattled off a short list, pausing on each one to tell us it wasn't available (!!??).

Basically it was: sandwich with falafel or identical sandwich with hummus. So boring.

And indeed, the food was boring. Frankly, with the exception of the AMAZING Quay Co-op in Cork and (so I've heard) Cornucopia in Dublin, boring is quite the norm.

It's said because there are a lot of great vegan foods available in health food stores, like some items in the Linda McCartney line, but no one uses them.

Also, we needed wi-fi to plan our day but she wouldn't give us the password. She took about 15 minutes to come over to our table and type it in herself with grungy hands. Thanks for assuming we're going to steal Internet in the alleyway.

That said, it was a clean, quiet and spacious space.

There's no competition around at all (which explains a lot), so you're stuck with this one for the time being.

Wonderful surprise!

My mom and I just did a trip to Ireland and were making our way through Co. Cork on the N71. I was STARVING! I cannot describe my joy when I saw Organico Cafe! What a relief! Even though they had just stopped serving (at 3:30), they were happy to rewarm some food for us and put together a great meal! I had a delicious tomato and fennel soup with fresh bread and rice noodle salad on the side. My mom (not vegetarain) had a slice of goat cheese and eggplant "savory tart" (like a light quiche) that came with 2 side salads - her meal disappeared in under 5 minutes! Only paid 10 euro each for our meals and drinks combined - very cheap compared to other places we had been eating. Its not a VEGAN place, so you have to be sure to specify non-dairy (or you'll be scooping yogurt garnish out of your soup like me), but they were very friendly and accommodating. What a treasure to find in Ireland!

Pros: All veg menu, Cozy ambiance, Reasonable prices

Cons: Not vegan
